Itinerary
Day 1 - Athens
Welcome to Greece! Transfer to your hotel upon arrival at Athens airport, where you may spend the rest of the day at leisure.
Day 2 - Athens City Tour
Today you will embark on a coach tour of Greece's vibrant capital city, named after the goddess Athena and thought to be over 3000 years old. See various sites of interest including the Panathenaic Stadium (where the first modern Olympics were held in 1896), Temple of Olympian Zeus, and Syntagma Square, and enjoy a tour of the fascinating Acropolis Museum, recently voted one of the best museums in the world. The highlight of the morning is a visit to the Acropolis, the ancient hilltop sanctuary housing the architectural masterpieces of Classical Athens: the Parthenon, Propylaia, Temple of Athena Nike, and Erechtheion. Enjoy the afternoon at leisure in the old Plaka neighbourhood and perhaps shop for souvenirs on Ermou street.
Please note Itinerary Alterations:
On some departure dates, the Athens city tour may be operated on Day 03 of the program (instead of Day 02). Such cases will be reconfirmed at the time of booking.
Day 3 - Athens at Leisure
Spend the day at leisure, continuing to explore Athens. Why not visit the Monastiraki market, ancient Kerameikos, or Pnyx hill? Alternatively, join any of the available optional excursions (depending on day of the week) to Delphi, Argolis, or Cape Sounion, or perhaps a day cruise to the gulf islands of Aegina, Poros, & Hydra.
Day 4 - Athens
Today marks the end of our Athens city break. A transfer to the airport for your departure flight is included after breakfast.
