Day 1 - Berlin
Upon your arrival in Berlin, we will arrange your transfer to the hotel, after which you'll have some free time to unwind and explore at your own pace. Later in the evening, you'll be able to gather information about the start of your tour from the notice boards located at the hotel reception. Please be aware that new travellers might join or leave the tour at various points along the route, which means the group composition could change throughout the journey. However, rest assured that the maximum group size will never be exceeded. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Day 2 - Berlin
Today, you'll delve into Berlins vibrant history and culture with a comprehensive guided tour of the city. As Germany's capital, Berlin is rich in both iconic landmarks and lesser-known treasures. We will explore the historical heart, admiring sites like Museum Island and the imposing Reichstag. The Brandenburg Gate stands as a symbol of reunification and resilience, while the city's bustling shopping streets and tranquil parks showcase its diverse appeal. Our day includes poignant visits to the Holocaust Memorial and the Berlin Wall Memorial Museum, offering insights into the city's complex past. For those intrigued by architecture and history, theres an optional trip to nearby Potsdam, known for its stunning palaces.
Day 3 - Berlin - Wolfsburg - Celle - Hannover
Today, we'll embark on a journey through Lower Saxony, starting in Wolfsburg. This city, established in 1938 as a planned community for Volkswagen workers during the Nazi era, centres around the renowned German car manufacturer. We'll include entry to Autostadt, the automotive theme park showcasing beautifully landscaped gardens and fascinating exhibitions. You'll have time here for a leisurely stroll and lunch.Our adventure continues to Celle, where you're free to explore the charming old town with its enchanting 16th and 17th-century half-timbered houses and the impressive Renaissance castle. From there, we head to Hannover, arriving mid-afternoon. You'll have time to discover this dynamic capital of Lower Saxony, a significant centre for economics, culture, and science in Germany, known for its blend of historic and contemporary architecture and plentiful green spaces. We'll be staying here overnight, allowing you time to unwind and savour this vibrant city.
Day 4 - Hannover - Hamburg - Flensburg - Aarhus
Following breakfast, we make our way to Hamburg, where we will take in the citys bustling port that wraps around the picturesque lake. After lunch, we continue our journey to Flensburg, a delightful coastal town with a marina that lies on the border with Denmark. Our travels then lead us along the Jutland peninsula, eventually arriving in Aarhus, Denmark's second-largest city, where culture and modernity blend seamlessly.
Day 5 - Aarhus - Kristiansand Ferry - Kristiansand - Stavanger
We set off from Aarhus towards Hirtshals, where we'll board a ferry for a scenic crossing of the North Sea to Norway. This three-hour journey takes us to Kristiansand, a vibrant city along Norways stunning southern coastline. From here, we travel through picturesque landscapes to Flekkefjord, a charming town that offers a glimpse of Norway's quaint seaside life. Our day concludes in Stavanger, a lovely town renowned for its bustling port nestled by the fjords. Please be aware that ferry timings can vary by month, but there's usually an opportunity for lunch on board.
Day 6 - Stavanger - Bergen
As we depart from Stavanger, our first stop is the Swords in Rock monument a striking homage to the Viking era. Our journey then leads us on a captivating route along Norways fjord coast, embracing scenic tunnels and bridges, with sections travelled by boat. Among these, we experience the worlds deepest undersea tunnel. The combined boat trips promise to make this segment of our excursion both restful and breathtaking. By lunchtime, we'll arrive in Bergen, where a cable car will whisk us up Mount Flyen for panoramic views over the town and fjord. The rest of the day is yours to explore Bergen, the renowned capital of fjords, at your leisure.
Day 7 - Bergen - Sognefjord - Oslo
Today we will be mesmerised by the astonishing beauty of Norway's landscapes, including its celebrated fjords, glaciers, lakes, and forests. Our expedition takes us to Sognefjord, the largest fjord in Norway, where nature's grandeur is on full display. En route, we shall pause at the magnificent Tvindefossen Waterfall, a true natural wonder. We will then board a splendid cruise from Gudvangen to Aurland, making the most of the hour-and-a-half voyage amidst breathtaking views. We suggest enjoying lunch on board to enhance this delightful experience. Our journey continues as we traverse snow-draped vistas and travel through the worlds longest tunnel, the Aurland Tunnel. We'll make a brief stop to marvel at the exterior of Borgund Stave Church, renowned as Norways best-preserved medieval wooden church. As the day wanes, we will arrive in Oslo, granting you free time to uncover the charm of the port, meander down the main streets, and admire the artistry in Frogner Park.
Day 8 - Oslo - Orebro - Stockholm
In Oslo, we join a local guide for a panoramic tour of Norway's capital, a city celebrated for its European Green Capital status. The tour showcases a harmonious blend of vibrant modern architecture, classical edifices, scenic landscapes, and expansive parks adorned with sculptures. Following this guided exploration, you have the freedom to delve further into Oslo at your own pace.Our expedition then moves toward Sweden, meandering through picturesque forests and lake-dotted landscapes until we reach rebro, a historic town set beside a serene lake. Take some time to explore this charming locale with its impressive castle and delightful old town. The day concludes with our journey to Stockholm, where we are expected to arrive in the evening, ready for the next chapter of our adventure.
Day 9 - Stockholm
Today, we venture into the heart of Stockholm, a captivating city uniquely spread across 14 islands. Our panoramic exploration begins in Gamla Stan, the vibrant old town known as "the city between bridges." Here, we'll admire the architectural grandeur of monumental buildings such as the Nobel Prize Museum, positioned right next to the historic Stortorget Square, which commemorates Nobel laureates. The majestic Cathedral and the Royal Palace add to the charm of this lively quarter. Where possible, we'll pause at the Fjllgatan viewpoint for breathtaking vistas over the city. Following our guided tour, you have the freedom to delve deeper into Stockholm's allure. We recommend visiting the city's renowned museums and lush parks. Additionally, you might want to explore the City Hall and the fascinating Vasa Museum to enhance your cultural experience.
Day 10 - Stockholm - Helsingor - Copenhagen
Our journey continues south from Stockholm as we venture to the lively coastal town of Helsingborg. Upon arrival, you'll have some time to explore before we board a ferry in the early afternoon, crossing from Sweden to Helsingr in Denmark. This town is famously known as the setting of Shakespeare's 'Hamlet' and is home to the impressive Kronborg Castle. You'll have ample time to visit potential sites of interest before we resume our travel and head towards Copenhagen. We anticipate reaching the picturesque Danish capital by evening, marking the end of today's adventures.
Day 11 - Copenhagen - Berlin
We'll begin the day with a panoramic tour of Copenhagen, the vibrant Danish capital famous for its high quality of life and focus on sustainability. With a local guide, we'll take in iconic sights such as The Little Mermaid statue, the picturesque Nyhavn harbour lined with colourful historic buildings, and Amalienborg Palace, the residence of the Danish royal family. We'll also visit the Town Hall Square and the area surrounding Tivoli Park. After exploring the city, we'll set off towards southern Denmark. At Gedser, we'll board a ferry for a two-hour crossing to Germany, where we'll arrive in Warnemnde. From there, we continue our journey to Berlin, reaching the city by the end of the day. Please note: If the number of travellers for this section is small, the journey between Copenhagen and Berlin may be completed via a regular passenger service, without any changes to the planned itinerary.
Day 12 - Berlin
Following breakfast, we conclude our tour in Berlin, carrying with us cherished memories of our adventures.
