Day 1 - Frankfurt
Upon your arrival in Frankfurt, you will be warmly greeted and transferred to your hotel, allowing you to settle in and unwind. You'll have some free time to explore the city at your own pace. Later in the afternoon, dont forget to check the notice boards at the hotel reception for details about the start of our tour. This information will help you plan your schedule and ensure an organised beginning to your journey. Enjoy your first taste of Germany's architecture, culture, or perhaps its renowned culinary offerings. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Frankfurt - Cruise on the Rhine - Cologne - Dortmund
Today, we discover the stunning landscapes of the Rhine and Moselle Valleys, regions steeped in history and filled with picturesque villages. Our day begins with a brief cruise along the Rhinebetween the charming villages of Rdesheim and Sankt Goarshowcasing the most scenic part of the river. We then journey to the Moselle River, pausing for lunch in the idyllic village of Cochem, set along the Rhine's banks and overshadowed by its imposing medieval castle, boasting a history that spans over a millennium. Our travels continue to the vibrant city of Cologne; here, you'll have time to admire its remarkable Gothic cathedral, which, standing at 154 metres, was once the tallest building in the world in the late 19th century. You might choose to wander along the Rhine or explore Cologne's lively city centre. Our day concludes as we proceed to our hotel in Dortmund. Please note that during fairs or congresses, accommodation may be arranged in a nearby city.
Day 3 - Dortmund - Fairy Tale Route - Hannover
Today, we delve into the enchanting world of fairy tales as we journey through towns that inspired the Brothers Grimm's stories, now part of the Fairy Tale Route. Our first stop is Trendelburg, a charming walled village where we will visit its impressive medieval castle, home to the famous Rapunzel Towerentry is included. We then continue our scenic drive through forests reminiscent of Hansel and Gretel, pausing in Hxter for lunch. Here, we'll explore Corvey Abbey, an ancient 9th-century monastery designated as a World Heritage Site, with admission included. Later, we'll visit Polle, where the ruins of Cinderella's Castle await usagain, entry is included. Our adventure then leads us to Hamelin, famed for the story of The Pied Piper. Meandering along the charming streets, we'll follow mouse tracks before heading to Hanover, where you'll have time to wander near the old town hall, soaking in the historical atmosphere. Please note that accommodation may be in a nearby city if fairs or conferences are taking place, and be aware that Corvey Abbey is closed from November to February.
Day 4 - Hannover - Goslar - Berlin
After breakfast, we journey to Goslar, a picturesque town renowned for its beautifully preserved timber-framed architecture, ancient walls, and charming squares. You will have the opportunity to explore this enchanting village at your own pace. We then continue to Quedlinburg, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, famed for its historic centre boasting over 2,100 half-timbered houses. Here, you can admire the impressive town hall and the Collegiate Castle. Take advantage of your free time to stroll and enjoy lunch in this timeless setting. Our travels then take us to Berlin, where we will arrive by evening, ready to explore the vibrant capital.
Day 5 - Berlin
Today, well delve into the vibrant heart of Berlin with a guided panoramic tour of this fascinating capital city. Our journey unfolds through the historic centre, passing by Museum Island, the iconic Reichstag, and the stately Brandenburg Gate. Youll get to see Berlin's bustling shopping streets and serene parks, offering a glimpse into the city's dynamic urban life. Our tour includes poignant visits to the Holocaust Memorial and the Berlin Wall Memorial Museum, providing profound insights into the city's past. For those looking to expand their exploration, there is an optional excursion to Potsdam, renowned for its magnificent palaces nestled amid picturesque landscapes.
Day 6 - Berlin - Copenhagen
On Day 6, enjoy a leisurely start in Berlin before we depart at 11:30 a.m. from the vibrant German capital, heading northwards. Our journey will lead us to Rostock, where we will board a ferry at 3:30 p.m. The ferry cruise across the Baltic Sea, taking nearly two hours, offers a relaxing and modern sailing experience. Upon arriving in Denmark, we will continue through captivating landscapes, ultimately reaching Copenhagen by the end of the day.
Day 7 - Copenhagen
In the morning, we will embark on a guided panoramic tour of Copenhagen, the vibrant capital of Denmark, celebrated for its high quality of life, sustainability efforts, and rich cultural scene. During the tour, we'll visit landmarks such as The Little Mermaid statue, the iconic Nyhavn harbour with its colourful historic buildings, and the outside of Amalienborg Palace, the royal family's residence. We'll also see the bustling Town Hall Square and the Tivoli Park area. Following this, you'll have some free time to delve deeper into the city at your own pace, whether exploring its dining scene, shops, or cultural attractions the choice is yours.
Day 8 - Copenhagen - Jnkping - Vadstena - Stockholm
Today, we leave Copenhagen behind, journeying to Elsinore, renowned as the setting of Shakespeare's 'Hamlet'. Here, you'll marvel at the magnificent Kronborg Castle. We then take a swift 20-minute ferry crossing into Sweden, entering a landscape brimming with serene large lakes and lush woodlands until we reach the inviting city of Jnkping. Situated by the shimmering surface of a vast lake, you can explore this modern yet cosy city and enjoy a leisurely lunch there. Our travels continue to Vadstena, a charming lakeside town celebrated for its historical architecture, including a grand castle initially built in the 14th century and later converted into a monastery. We press on to Stockholm, the captivating capital of Sweden, reaching it by evening. Built across an archipelago in the Baltic Sea, Stockholm is famed for its harmonious blend of stunning historical architecture and modern infrastructure, linked by a web of bridges and ferries, offering visitors a truly unique and memorable experience.
Day 9 - Stockholm
Today, we'll take in the sights of Stockholm, a captivating city spread across 14 interconnected islands. Our tour kicks off with a visit to Gamla Stan, the vibrant old town famously referred to as "the city between bridges." Here, we'll explore grand landmarks such as the Nobel Prize Museum, nestled alongside the picturesque Stortorget main square, as well as the Cathedral and the Royal Palace. When possible, we'll enjoy panoramic views from the Fjllgatan viewpoint. Following our guided tour, you'll have the freedom to discover Stockholm at your own pace. Consider visiting its esteemed museums and lush parks or opting for a tour of the City Hall and Vasa Museum for further immersion in the city's rich cultural tapestry.
Day 10 - Stockholm - Stockholm - Turku Ferry

In the evening, we'll board a modern ferry for an overnight voyage to Finland. You'll rest comfortably in en-suite double cabins, ensuring a pleasant journey as we sail across the Baltic Sea.
Day 11 - Stockholm - Turku Ferry - Naantali - Helsinki
Upon arrival in Finland, it's worth venturing to the ships deck to witness the breathtaking sunrise as we navigate past the land Islandsa stunning archipelago of hundreds of forested isles. Once we disembark in Turku, a city with deep Swedish roots, you'll have a chance to explore its unique character. Our journey continues to the nearby town of Naantali, renowned for its serene seaside setting and quaint wooden houses. We then proceed to Helsinki, aiming to arrive by lunchtime. The afternoon is yours to discover the city at your leisure, exploring the old market, admiring the Russian-influenced architecture, and visiting its beautiful churches.
Day 12 - Helsinki
Our journey today will take us on an enjoyable boat trip to the Suomenlinna Islands. Spread across six islands, this remarkable fortress once served as a guardian to the city and now boasts World Heritage Site status. As we explore, you'll have the unique opportunity to wander across the islands via pedestrian bridges, taking in the distinct blend of history and natural beauty. Following our excursion, you'll have free time to delve deeper into Helsinki's offerings at your own pace.
