Day 1 - Frankfurt
Arrive in Frankfurt, where we'll ensure a smooth transfer to your hotel. Once you've settled in, enjoy some leisure time to explore or relax as you wish. Later, you'll find essential details about the commencement of your tour on the information boards at the hotel reception. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Frankfurt - Cruise on the Rhine - Cologne - Dortmund
Today, we set off to explore the picturesque Rhine and Moselle Valleys, renowned for their historical significance and charming villages. Our adventure begins with a leisurely cruise on the most scenic stretch of the Rhine, from Rdesheim to Sankt Goar. As we glide along the river, youll notice a landscape dotted with quaint villages and rolling hills, a visual delight not to be missed.Following our cruise, we journey to the Moselle River, pausing for lunch in the delightful village of Cochem. This picturesque spot, nestled on the banks of the Moselle, is dominated by an imposing castle that has stood for over a thousand years, offering a glimpse into the area's storied past.Our tour continues as we make our way to the vibrant city of Cologne. Here, youll have time to visit the city's awe-inspiring Gothic cathedral. With its towering spires reaching 154 metres, it was the tallest building in the world until the late 19th century and remains a masterpiece of medieval architecture. Stroll along the Rhine River or wander through the lively city centre, soaking in the vibrant atmosphere, before we continue to our hotel in Dortmund. Please note that during fairs or congresses, accommodation may be provided in a nearby city.
Day 3 - Dortmund - Fairy Tale Route - Hannover
On day three, we embark on an enchanting journey along the Fairy Tale Route, a series of charming towns that inspired the legendary tales of the Brothers Grimm. Our first stop is the picturesque village of Trendelburg, where we explore its medieval castle and the famed Rapunzel Towerentry included. Continuing along scenic roads through lush forests reminiscent of Hansel and Gretel's story, we pause in Hxter to enjoy lunch. Here, we'll visit Corvey Abbey, a remarkable 9th-century monastery and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with admission included.Next, we visit Polle to explore the ruins of what is believed to be Cinderella's Castleagain with entry provided. Our magical journey continues to the historic town of Hamelin, renowned for the tale of "The Pied Piper of Hamelin," where we follow the symbolic mouse tracks. We conclude our day in Hannover, with time for a leisurely stroll near the beautifully preserved old town hall. Remember, accommodation might be in a nearby city if there are fairs or conferences, and please note that Corvey Abbey is closed from November to February.
Day 4 - Hannover - Goslar - Berlin
Today, we'll set off after breakfast to discover the picturesque charm of Goslar. Known for its striking wooden architecture and storied history, this enchanting village is surrounded by ancient walls and dotted with charming squares. You'll have time to explore and take in the unique atmosphere. Our journey then takes us to Quedlinburg, celebrated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This delightful town boasts over 2,100 half-timbered houses that have stood the test of time. Notable sights include the historic town hall and the Collegiate Castle. You'll have free time here to enjoy a leisurely stroll and find a spot for lunch.In the evening, we continue our travels to vibrant Berlin, where we'll arrive ready to immerse ourselves in the dynamic energy of Germany's capital city.
Day 5 - Berlin
Explore the vibrant culture of Berlin with our expert-guided panoramic tour of the city's fascinating highlights. We will journey through the historic heart of Germany's capital, taking in the iconic Museum Island, the impressive Reichstag, the symbolic Brandenburg Gate, and the bustling shopping streets. Youll also appreciate the serenity of Berlin's beautiful parks as we traverse the city. Our itinerary includes poignant visits to the Holocaust Memorial and the Berlin Wall Memorial Museum, offering insights into the city's complex history. For a deeper exploration, you may choose to visit Potsdam, renowned for its splendid palaces, during your free time.
Day 6 - Berlin - Copenhagen
After enjoying some free time in Berlin, we depart at 11:30 a.m., heading north from Germany's vibrant capital. Our journey takes us to Rostock, where we'll board a ferry for a crossing of the Baltic Sea, scheduled to depart at 3:30 p.m. This modern ship offers a comfortable two-hour cruise to Denmark. Once we arrive, we'll continue through the picturesque Danish landscapes, making our way to Copenhagen by the end of the day.
Day 7 - Copenhagen
This morning, we will embark on a guided panoramic tour of Copenhagen, a city renowned for its outstanding quality of life, dedication to sustainability, and vibrant cultural scene. Our exploration includes iconic landmarks such as The Little Mermaid, the charming Nyhavn harbour lined with its colourful historic buildings, and the exterior of Amalienborg Palace, the residence of the Danish royal family. We'll also pass through the bustling Town Hall Square and the enchanting Tivoli Park area. Afterwards, you will have the afternoon free to explore Copenhagen at your own pace, perhaps delving deeper into its rich heritage or enjoying the lively atmosphere of its streets.
Day 8 - Copenhagen
Following breakfast, our journey concludes, leaving you with cherished memories of your experiences.
