Day 1 - Berlin
Welcome to your tour! Upon arrival in Berlin, we will arrange for your transfer to the hotel, allowing you some free time to settle in and explore at your own pace. In the afternoon, please check the information boards at the hotel reception for details about the start of your journey. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Berlin
Today's journey begins with an immersive panoramic tour of Berlin, the dynamic capital of Germany. We'll explore key landmarks such as the historic centre, Museum Island, the iconic Reichstag, the Brandenburg Gate, and the bustling shopping streets. Our itinerary includes visits to some of Berlin's serene parks, providing a glimpse into the city's green spaces. We will also pause at poignant historical sites like the Holocaust Memorial and the Berlin Wall Memorial Museum, offering a deeper understanding of the city's past. If you're feeling adventurous, you might choose to explore Potsdam in your free time, where the stunning palaces offer a taste of Prussian history and elegance.
Day 3 - Berlin - Copenhagen
On day three, enjoy some free time in Berlin before we depart at 11:30 a.m. for a northbound journey towards the Baltic coast. Our destination is the port city of Rostock, where we will board a ferry departing at 3:30 p.m. for a nearly two-hour crossing of the Baltic Sea to Denmark. This modern ferry provides an opportunity to relax and enjoy the sea views. Once in Denmark, we will continue our scenic journey through the Danish landscape, reaching the vibrant city of Copenhagen by the evening.
Day 4 - Copenhagen
Today, we will explore the vibrant city of Copenhagen with the help of a knowledgeable local guide. Our morning will be filled with a panoramic tour highlighting the essence of the Danish capital, renowned for its commitment to sustainability, high quality of life, and rich cultural tapestry. We will visit landmarks such as The Little Mermaid statue, the lively Nyhavn harbour with its colourful historic buildings, and view the majestic exterior of Amalienborg Palace, the residence of the Danish royal family. Our tour continues through Town Hall Square and the Tivoli Park area. After the tour, you are free to explore the city at your own pace, perhaps revisiting your favourite spots or discovering new ones.
Day 5 - Copenhagen - Jnkping - Vadstena - Stockholm
Today, we'll leave Copenhagen and make our way to Elsinore, a town renowned as the setting for Shakespeare's "Hamlet" and home to the impressive Kronborg Castle. Following our visit, we'll cross over to Sweden with a brief ferry ride lasting about 20 minutes. As we travel through Sweden, we'll be surrounded by picturesque scenery of expansive lakes and lush forests.Our first Swedish stop will be Jnkping, a quaint, contemporary city nestled beside a large lake. Here, you'll have time to wander and enjoy a leisurely lunch. The journey continues to Vadstena, a charming town on the banks of a lake, famed for its historical 14th-century castle, which was later transformed into a monastery. As the day unfolds, we'll head onwards to Stockholm, the captivating capital of Sweden. Situated in an archipelago of the Baltic Sea, Stockholm's rich history and striking architecture provide a unique blend of old and new. This city, interlinked by a maze of bridges and ferries, promises a memorable end to your day. We'll arrive in the evening, and you can start soaking up the allure of this Scandinavian treasure.
Day 6 - Stockholm - Mora
Following breakfast, we will embark on a guided tour of Stockholm, a stunning city sprawled across 14 islands interlinked by bridges where the presence of water is unmistakable. Our exploration will take us to Gamla Stan, the 'City between the Bridges', renowned for its vibrant atmosphere and historic buildings. Among the notable landmarks are the Nobel Museum, honouring Nobel Prize laureates, and Stortorget, the main square. We will also visit the Cathedral and the Royal Palace. For panoramic views of the city, we will head to Fjllgatan viewpoint. After our guided exploration, you'll have some free time to discover more of this captivating Swedish capital at your own pace. Around 4 pm, we will journey northwest through scenic landscapes characterised by gentle hills, lush agricultural land, quaint towns, and tranquil lakes. Our day's journey concludes in Mora, a charming town nestled between two lakes. It was here that Gustav I of Sweden rallied local support in 1521 to oppose the Danish forces occupying the country. We will arrive in Mora by evening.
Day 7 - Mora - Funsdalen - Roros - Trondheim
We begin the day with an early departure towards Norway, travelling through expansive forests, scenic lakes, and majestic mountains. Our first stop is Funsdalen, a well-known ski retreat. After a brief visit, we continue to Rros, where we'll take a break for lunch and explore this charming mining town, recognised as a World Heritage Site for its picturesque historic centre. Here, you'll have the opportunity to visit the old miners' homes and a museum dedicated to the town's historic foundry. Our journey continues to Trondheim, situated along Norway's central coast. Known as the country's third-largest city, Trondheim boasts a rich heritage dating back to the Viking Age and served as Norway's capital in the Middle Ages. Notable sites include its 11th-century cathedral and the iconic old bridge over the canal. You will have free time to discover Trondheims vibrant nightlife and its diverse range of dining options, making for an engaging end to a culturally rich day.
Day 8 - Trondheim - Kristiansund - Atlantic Road - Molde
Today, we continue our exploration by spending some time in the heart of Trondheim, a city renowned for its rich history and vibrant atmosphere. Following this, we embark on a journey that promises breathtaking views of the Norwegian coastline and fjords. Our route includes a ferry crossing, which offers an opportunity to admire the stunning fjord landscapes, before we arrive in Kristiansund. This charming city, traditionally a bustling fishing hub, is unique in its layout, spread out across several islands connected by bridges and embankments. Here you'll find a lively city centre with cobblestone streets, where you can enjoy lunch and perhaps browse through its shops and cafs.Later in the day, we journey through scenic beauty to visit the Kvernes Stave Church. Dating back to the 14th century, this remarkable structure houses a 300-year-old ship model and altarpieces dedicated to the Virgin Mary truly a historical gem. Our trip then takes us along the famous Atlantic Road, acclaimed as one of Norways most stunning stretches of road. This extraordinary drive features eight bridges linking various islands, and you'll experience the oceans dramatic presence as you traverse this coastal marvel. We will pause at one of the viewpoints to fully appreciate the panoramic views before arriving in Molde by evening. Nestled along its fjord, this vibrant town is frequently visited by cruise ships, offering a lively end to a spectacular day.
Day 9 - Molde - Geiranger - Briksdalsbreen - Loen
Today promises to be a visual feast as we traverse some of Norway's most breathtaking landscapes, encompassing fjords, glaciers, and delightful towns. Our adventure begins with a spectacular ferry ride across the Romsdal Fjord, a 50-minute journey that offers stunning vistas. As we venture onwards, we'll ascend snow-covered mountains before descending towards the majestic Storfjorden. A subsequent 30-minute ferry journey will take us past awe-inspiring snow-capped peaks en route to the Eagle Viewpoint. Here, we'll pause to take in the sweeping panoramas of Geiranger Fjord, celebrated as one of Norway's most magnificent views.Upon arrival in Geiranger, with its UNESCO World Heritage fjord, you'll have time to explore at your own pace. Whether you choose to wander along the cascading waterfalls that grace the town, embark on a boat tour of the fjord, or simply relax, the options are as diverse as the scenery. After a leisurely lunch, we resume our route through more striking mountain and fjord landscapes, arriving at the awe-inspiring Briksdalsbreen, a glacier set amidst stunning surroundings. You'll have the opportunity to hike to the glacier, either on foot or by electric vehicle if you prefer (optional).After a day filled with natural wonders, we'll enjoy an included dinner and settle for the night in the charming town of Loen, nestled by the fjord. For an added thrill, you may wish to ascend one of the steepest cable cars in the world, offering a breathtaking journey from the fjord level to over 1,000 metres above sea level.
Day 10 - Loen - Bergen
We will depart early on a journey of nearly 300 km, offering an abundance of stunning views en route to Bergen. Our path will take us along the majestic fjord shores and across striking mountain landscapes, with a delightful ferry ride included to enhance the scenic experience. We plan to reach Bergen by midday. Upon arrival, a cable car ride to the summit of Flyen Mountain awaits, providing us with breathtaking views over the vibrant city below. After this, you will have the afternoon to explore Norway's second-largest city at your own pace. Renowned for its deep-rooted history, lively cultural scene, and impressive natural surroundings, Bergen offers plenty to discover. Take a walk through Bryggen, the historic dock district famous for its colourful wooden buildings a site listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You might also choose to visit the Bergen Aquarium or the bustling fish market, where small restaurants offer a variety of seafood delicacies. Whether youre seeking cultural insights or culinary delights, Bergen promises an engaging exploration.
Day 11 - Bergen - Eidfjord - Voringfossen - Geilo - Oslo
Well set off from Bergen early, venturing deeper into the heart of Norway. Our route takes us over an impressive suspension bridge spanning the Hardanger Fjordone of the country's most picturesque. Our first stop will be Eidfjord, a quaint town nestled along the fjord's edge. Following this, well visit Vringfossen waterfall, renowned for its dramatic 182-metre drop. Here, you can enjoy the vistas from various viewpoints and bridges that frame this majestic natural wonder. Our journey continues across striking landscapes of frigid high plateaus, where frozen lakes and snowfields are common sights. We'll pause for lunch in Geilo, a popular ski resort nestled among the mountains. Post-lunch, well head towards Oslo, reaching there by evening. Once in the vibrant capital, exploring the lively city centre is recommended. Delight in a stroll around the historic harbour or admire the views from the modern Opera Houses rooftop terrace.
Day 12 - Oslo
In the morning, we will embark on a panoramic tour of Oslo, Norways captivating capital, celebrated for its green spaces and stunning natural surroundings. Accompanied by a local guide, we will pass the Royal Palace and stop at Vigeland Park to marvel at its extraordinary sculpture collection. Our route will also include views of the Town Hall, the historic port area, and the striking, contemporary Opera House. Following this insightful exploration, the afternoon is yours to enjoy at your own pace. We recommend visiting one of Oslos acclaimed museums, such as the Munch Museum, to further enrich your experience.
Day 13 - Oslo
