Day 1 - Berlin
Arriving in Berlin marks the beginning of our journey. Upon arrival, we will ensure your seamless transfer to the hotel in the vibrant capital of Germany, known for its rich history and modern culture. Once settled, you will have the rest of the day to explore at your own pace. Take this time to relax and prepare for the adventures ahead. In the afternoon, detailed information regarding the commencement of the tour will be available on the information boards in the hotel reception. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Berlin
On your second day, you'll delve into the rich history and vibrant culture of Berlin with a comprehensive guided panoramic tour. We'll explore the historic heart of Germany's capital, making our way through iconic landmarks such as Museum Island, the Reichstag, and the Brandenburg Gate. As we traverse the city's bustling shopping streets and tranquil parks, you'll gain insight into the unique character of Berlin. During our tour, we'll pause at the poignant Holocaust Memorial and the Berlin Wall Memorial Museum, allowing time to reflect on their historical significance. If you wish, you can choose to spend your afternoon on an optional excursion to Potsdam, renowned for its magnificent palaces.
Day 3 - Berlin - Copenhagen
On the third day, enjoy some morning leisure time to explore Berlin at your own pace. At 11:30 a.m., we're off on our journey northward from this vibrant city. In Rostock, we board a ferry scheduled to set sail at 3:30 p.m. for a nearly two-hour crossing of the Baltic Sea to Denmark. Revel in the convenience and modern comforts of the ship as you take in the scenic seascapes. Upon our arrival in Denmark, we'll travel through picturesque landscapes, reaching the charming city of Copenhagen by the end of the day.
Day 4 - Copenhagen
In the morning, we'll embark on a captivating guided tour of Copenhagen, a city renowned for its exceptional quality of life, commitment to sustainability, and vibrant cultural scene. Our exploration includes visits to iconic landmarks such as The Little Mermaid statue, the bustling Nyhavn harbour lined with its historic colourful buildings, and the exterior of Amalienborg Palace, the royal family's winter residence. We'll also make our way to Town Hall Square and the lively Tivoli Park area. After the tour, you'll have the afternoon free to discover more of the Danish capital at your own pace.
Day 5 - Copenhagen - Jnkping - Vadstena - Stockholm
Our journey today takes us from Copenhagen to the historic town of Elsinore, famously associated with Shakespeares Hamlet and home to the splendid Kronborg Castle. After our visit, we'll embark on a short ferry ridelasting around 20 minutesto the welcoming shores of Sweden. As we travel, well pass through scenic landscapes that feature expansive lakes and verdant forests, eventually reaching Jnkping, a charming modern city nestled on the shores of a large lake. You'll have some leisure time here to explore and enjoy lunch. Continuing our adventure, well make our way to Vadstena, a quaint lakeside town known for its well-preserved historic homes and a magnificent 14th-century castle, originally a monastery. As evening approaches, we proceed to Stockholm, the captivating capital of Swedenrenowned for its stunning location amidst the Baltic Sea archipelago, crisscrossed by numerous bridges and ferries. With its rich cultural heritage and harmonious blend of old and new, Stockholm offers an enriching experience that captivates all who visit.
Day 6 - Stockholm
We begin the day with a panoramic tour of Stockholm, a stunning capital spread across 14 islands. Our first stop is Gamla Stan, the vibrant old town known as "the city between bridges," where we'll explore monumental landmarks like the Nobel Prize Museum, the Cathedral, and the Royal Palace. These historical sites encircle the main square of Stortorget, which pays homage to Nobel Prize laureates. Whenever circumstances permit, we'll pause to admire the breathtaking views from Fjllgatan viewpoint. The rest of the day is yours to discover Stockholm at your own pace. We encourage you to explore the city's captivating museums and parks. For those interested, optional visits to the impressive City Hall and the renowned Vasa Museum are highly recommended.
Day 7 - Stockholm - Stockholm - Turku Ferry
Spend your day at leisure in Stockholm, soaking in the vibrant atmosphere of this beautiful city built on a series of islands. As evening approaches, we will embark on a modern ferry for an overnight voyage to Finland. You'll be comfortably accommodated in double en-suite cabins for the journey.
Day 8 - Stockholm - Turku Ferry - Naantali - Helsinki
Upon arriving in Finland, we suggest rising early and making your way to the ships deck to witness the stunning sunrise over the land Islands, a breathtaking archipelago of lush, forested islands. Once we disembark, you'll have the opportunity to explore the historic city of Turku, distinguished by its significant Swedish influence. Our journey then proceeds to the charming coastal town of Naantali, renowned for its delightful wooden houses. Following our visit, we'll travel to Helsinki, where we expect to arrive by lunchtime. The afternoon will be yours to enjoy at leisure, allowing you to discover Helsinki's vibrant old market, impressive Russian-inspired architecture, and beautiful churches.
Day 9 - Helsinki
Today we will set sail on a boat trip to the Suomenlinna Islands, a remarkable collection of six islands that host an imposing fortress. This UNESCO World Heritage Site once served as a key defence for the entrance to Helsinki. Enjoy the opportunity to wander among the interconnected islands, traversing scenic pedestrian bridges. Later, you'll have free time to delve deeper into Helsinki's offerings at your own pace.
