Day 1 - Frankfurt
Welcome to your adventure! Upon arrival in Frankfurt, we will arrange your transfer to the hotel, granting you some time to unwind and explore the city. Later in the afternoon, you can check the hotel reception boards for all the essential information regarding the commencement of your tour. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Frankfurt - Cruise on the Rhine - Cologne - Dortmund
Today we will uncover the enchanting landscapes of the Rhine and Moselle Valleys. Our day begins with a delightful cruise on the most scenic stretch of the Rhine, from Rdesheim to Sankt Goar. Next, we head to the Moselle River, stopping for a leisurely lunch in Cochem. This charming village, known for its impressive thousand-year-old castle, offers a taste of history alongside its picturesque setting. Afterwards, we travel to Cologne, where you will have the opportunity to visit the magnificent Gothic cathedral, an architectural wonder that stood as the tallest building in the world until the late 1800s. You can also stroll along the Rhine River and explore the vibrant city centre. We then continue to our overnight destination in Dortmund. Please note that during fairs or congresses, accommodation may be arranged in a nearby city.
Day 3 - Dortmund - Fairy Tale Route - Hannover
Our third day begins with a captivating journey along the revered Fairy Tale Route, a collection of enchanting towns that inspired the Brothers Grimm. We set out for Trendelburg, a charming walled village where we will explore its magnificent medieval castle and the renowned Rapunzel Tower entrance included. As we meander through picturesque roads, dense forests reminiscent of "Hansel and Gretel" accompany us to Hxter. Here, you'll relish a pleasant lunch and a visit to Corvey Abbey, an ancient monastery from the 9th century and a UNESCO World Heritage Site entrance included. Our journey continues to Polle, where the ruins of Cinderellas Castle await entrance included. Delve into the lore of "The Pied Piper of Hamelin" in the charming town of Hamelin, known for its legendary tale. Following the mouse tracks through the town, we proceed to the vibrant city of Hannover, where a delightful evening awaits for a leisurely stroll near the old town hall. Please note that during fairs or conferences, you may be accommodated in a nearby city, and Corvey Abbey is closed from November to February.
Day 4 - Hannover - Hamburg - Flensburg - Aarhus
After breakfast, we journey to Hamburg, where we'll explore the vibrant port area encircling the picturesque lake. Following lunch, we travel to Flensburg, a delightful seaside town featuring a marina at the border with Denmark. Continuing our adventure along the Jutland peninsula, we'll arrive in Aarhus, Denmarks second-largest city.
Day 5 - Aarhus - Kristiansand Ferry - Kristiansand - Stavanger
Upon departing from Aarhus, we journey to Hirtshals, where we board a ferry for a three-hour crossing of the North Sea, arriving in Norway at the port of Kristiansand. As we travel along Norway's scenic southern coastline, you'll see the picturesque surroundings unfold. We pause in the quaint town of Flekkefjord, known for its charming atmosphere. Our day concludes in the delightful town of Stavanger, characterised by its vibrant port nestled beside the fjord. Please note, the ferry schedule can change depending on the month, but you usually have ample time to enjoy lunch while on board.
Day 6 - Stavanger - Bergen
As we depart from Stavanger, we'll make a stop at the Swords in Rock monument, a striking tribute commemorating the region's Viking heritage. Our journey then takes us through some of Norway's most remarkable landscapes, as we traverse the fjord coast via an impressive network of tunnels and bridges, with segments of our route carried out by boat. One tunnel on our path is renowned as the deepest in the world, adding an element of adventure to our travels. These boat trips provide a tranquil and impressive perspective of the majestic scenery. Arriving in Bergen around lunchtime, we will ascend Mount Flyen by cable car to take in the magnificent views of both the city and the surrounding fjords. Following this, you have the freedom to explore Bergen at your own pace, allowing you to delve into the rich history and vibrant culture of Norway's famed fjord capital.
Day 7 - Bergen - Sognefjord - Oslo
Today we embark on a journey through some of Norway's most spectacular landscapes, including fjords, glaciers, lakes, and forests. Our first destination is Sognefjord, Norway's largest fjord, renowned for its stunning beauty. Along the way, we pause at the breathtaking Tvindefossen Waterfall, a truly majestic sight. We then set out on an extraordinary cruise between Gudvangen and Aurland, surrounded by awe-inspiring vistas it's a perfect opportunity to enjoy lunch on board as you take in the scenery.Continuing our adventure, we traverse snow-clad landscapes and navigate the Aurland Tunnel, the longest road tunnel in the world. We'll stop to admire the exterior of the Borgund Stave Church, renowned as one of Norways best-preserved medieval wooden churches. Our journey concludes in Oslo, where youll have free time to explore the city's port, wander its main streets, or admire the artwork in Frogner Park.
Day 8 - Oslo - Orebro - Stockholm
In Oslo, well embark on a guided panoramic tour of Norway's capital city, known for its blend of modern architecture, historic buildings, and scenic parks adorned with sculptures. Oslo boasts a reputation as the European Green Capital, reflecting its commitment to environmental sustainability. Following the tour, you'll have the opportunity to explore the city on your own.Our journey continues as we head towards Sweden, traversing landscapes rich with forests and lakes. Our next stop is rebro, a historic town situated by a picturesque lake, renowned for its charming castle and delightful old town. Youll have some time to wander around and soak in the historic atmosphere before we proceed to Stockholm, where well arrive in the evening.
Day 9 - Stockholm
Today, well delve into the charms of Stockholm, a captivating city spread across 14 connected islands. Our panoramic tour will take us through Gamla Stan, the vibrant old quarter known as "the city between bridges," where you can admire monumental structures such as the Nobel Prize Museum, positioned next to the main square, Stortorget. This area pays tribute to Nobel Prize laureates and features noteworthy sites like the Cathedral and the Royal Palace. Time permitting, well take in the breathtaking perspectives from the Fjllgatan viewpoint. Afterwards, you have free time to wander and explore this remarkable city at your own pace. We recommend visiting some of the citys impressive museums and expansive parks. Alternatively, you might choose to explore the City Hall and the fascinating Vasa Museum during your downtime.
Day 10 - Stockholm - Helsingor - Copenhagen
Today we will embark on a scenic journey southward, beginning in the lively coastal town of Helsingborg. After some free time to explore this vibrant Swedish town, we will take a ferry across the resund Strait to Helsingr in Denmark, known as Hamlets hometown. Here, you can admire the striking Kronborg Castle, which offers a rich insight into Danish history and culture. Later, we'll continue our journey to Copenhagen, arriving in the evening, where you will have the opportunity to enjoy the city's vibrant atmosphere.
Day 11 - Copenhagen - Berlin
Our day begins in Copenhagen with a guided city tour, showcasing Denmark's vibrant capital known for its outstanding quality of life, commitment to sustainability, and rich cultural scene. Well visit key sights including The Little Mermaid, the charming Nyhavn harbour lined with colourful historic buildings, and the exterior of Amalienborg Palace, the royal family's residence. You'll also experience the lively atmosphere around Town Hall Square and Tivoli Park. Following this exploration, well set off towards southern Denmark. Our journey continues as we take a two-hour ferry from Gedser to Germany. Upon arrival in Warnemnde, well head to Berlin, where well arrive in the evening. Please note that if our group is small, alternative transportation may be arranged but will not affect the planned itinerary.
Day 12 - Berlin
Experience the vibrant culture and rich history of Berlin with our guided panoramic tour. As Germany's capital, Berlin is a city brimming with both historical and modern attractions. We will explore the iconic landmarks including the historic centre, Museum Island, the Reichstag, and the magnificent Brandenburg Gate. Shopping enthusiasts can roam the bustling streets, while nature lovers can enjoy the tranquillity of the city's verdant parks. Our itinerary also consists of poignant visits to the Holocaust Memorial and Berlin Wall Memorial Museum, offering insights into the city's profound historical narratives. For a touch of grandeur, there's also an optional excursion to Potsdam, where you can admire its beautiful palaces at your own pace.
