Day 1 - Berlin
Upon arriving in vibrant Berlin, we'll whisk you away to your hotel, where you'll have the chance to settle in and unwind. You'll have some free time to explore the bustling city at your leisure. Later in the afternoon, make sure to check the hotel reception for information regarding the start of your exciting adventure with us. Enjoy your first taste of this dynamic capital, where history and modernity effortlessly blend. Relax tonight, as tomorrow promises a captivating exploration of Berlin's rich culture and heritage. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Berlin
Embark on a journey through Berlin, Germany's enthralling capital, as we delve into its rich history and vibrant culture on a guided panoramic tour. Immerse yourself in the city's fascinating past as we visit key landmarks, including the historic centre, Museum Island, the iconic Reichstag, and the Brandenburg Gate. We will also wander along bustling shopping streets and relax in the citys charming parks. Our exploration will not be complete without poignant visits to the Holocaust Memorial and the Berlin Wall Memorial Museum. Should you wish to explore further, there is an optional excursion to Potsdam, where you can discover its magnificent palaces.
Day 3 - Berlin - Dresden - Prague
Today, we'll set off through picturesque forests to Dresden, a city celebrated for its remarkable architecture and artistic heritage, making it a premier tourist destination in Germany. You'll have time to take in its stunning palaces and enjoy lunch at your own pace. Later, we will make our way across the border into the Czech Republic, arriving in Prague by mid-afternoon. Here, we'll embark on a panoramic tour of this enchanting city, highlighting its magnificent Castle, the bustling Town Hall Square, and the iconic Charles Bridge. As the day draws to a close, we'll provide an evening transfer to the city centre, where you'll find an array of traditional breweries waiting to be explored. Note: The Prague city tour might occur on Sunday in some cases.
Day 4 - Prague
Enjoy a day at leisure in Prague, allowing you the freedom to explore at your own pace. Alternatively, you might choose to delve into the artistic side of the city. You have the option to visit Mala Strana, soak in the history at St. Nicholas Church, and view the renowned Infant Jesus of Prague. For a different perspective, you could take a cruise along the Vltava River or wander through the historic Jewish Quarter, each offering unique insights into this vibrant city's past and present.
Day 5 - Prague
Spend the day at your leisure in Prague, where you can fully absorb the citys unique charm and atmosphere. Venture into its winding streets to discover the cultural and historical gems that make Prague so captivating. Take time to explore the art, architecture, and vibrant local life at your own pace. With its blend of Gothic and Baroque beauty, there's plenty for you to uncover in this mesmerising city. Enjoy the freedom to create your own experiences as you wander through its memorable settings.
Day 6 - Prague - Brno
Spend a leisurely morning in Prague, soaking in the city's unique charm at your own pace. Whether it's a casual stroll through the cobblestone streets or revisiting a favourite cafe, the time is yours to enjoy. After lunch, at approximately 3:00 p.m., we will depart for Moravia and travel onwards to Brno, the Czech Republic's second-largest city. Known for its distinctive modern architecture and lively cultural offerings, Brno provides the perfect setting for an afternoon exploration. We will have time to wander through its vibrant city centre, where you can admire highlights such as the Cathedral and the Old Town Hall.
Day 7 - Brno - Bratislava - Trencin - Krakow
We begin our day with an early departure from Brno, heading towards Bratislava, Slovakia's capital. Nestled along the Danube River, this charming city boasts a wonderfully preserved historic centre. You'll have time to wander its picturesque streets and soak up the atmosphere before we continue our journey. Our next stop is Trencin, a delightful medieval town in western Slovakia, celebrated for its striking castle and vibrant historic centre. Take a leisurely stroll and enjoy lunch at your own pace. In the afternoon, we'll traverse scenic landscapes of forests and rolling hills as we make our way to Poland, arriving in Krakow at the day's end.
Day 8 - Krakow - Wadowice - Auschwitz - Warsaw
This morning, we'll embark on a panoramic tour of Krakow, the historic capital of Lesser Poland, founded in the 7th century. The city's heart, a UNESCO World Heritage site, captivates with its medieval allure. We will wander through its charming streets and visit the Main Market Squareone of Europe's largestwhich serves as the vibrant hub of the city. Our exploration continues to Wawel Castle Hill, once the residence of Polish royalty. Next, we'll journey to Kalwaria Zebrzydowska, nestled in a picturesque landscape, renowned for its monastery and chapel complex, collectively known as "Calvary." This site holds significant religious importance as a major pilgrimage destination and is also protected as a UNESCO World Heritage site. We'll then proceed to Wadowice, the birthplace of Pope John Paul II, where you'll have time for lunch and a casual exploration at your own pace. In the afternoon, we shall visit Auschwitz-Birkenau, the notorious Nazi concentration and extermination camp. Here, over a million individuals lost their lives during World War II. We will tour Birkenau (Camp II), where trainloads of deportees arrived from all over Europe, and reflect on this sombre history. Our day concludes with an evening arrival in Warsaw.
Day 9 - Warsaw - Poznan
On the morning of day nine, we set off to discover the captivating city of Warsaw with the expert guidance of a local. This dynamic city, home to nearly two million people, serves as Poland's political and economic centre and is a fascinating blend of tradition and modernity. Our exploration begins in the enchanting Old Town, renowned for its historical buildings and cobblestone streets, meticulously restored after their wartime destruction and proudly recognised as a World Heritage Site. We then visit the Royal Palace, one of the city's architectural jewels. Moving on, we stop at the iconic Palace of Culture, a towering gift from the Soviet era. Our journey through history continues with a poignant reflection at the site of the former Jewish ghetto, once Europes largest. We conclude our tour with a leisurely stroll in Lazienkowski Park, where the majestic Chopin Monument stands.Around 2:30 p.m., after you've had time to wander and perhaps enjoy lunch, we leave Warsaw behind and head towards Pomerania, arriving in Poznan. Known for its lively main square, Poznan offers its own vibrant charm, and you'll have time to explore and soak up its atmosphere before we settle in for the night.
Day 10 - Poznan - Berlin
We begin our day with an early morning departure from Poznan, travelling across expansive plains on our way to Germany. Our arrival in Berlin is anticipated around 11:30 a.m., giving you time to start soaking in the sights of this vibrant city.
