Day 1 - Paris
Upon your arrival in Paris, we will arrange a convenient transfer to your hotel, providing you with some free time to settle in and explore at your leisure. Later in the afternoon, you'll receive essential information about the commencement of your tour, either directly or displayed on information boards at the hotel reception. Feel free to delve into the city's offerings as you adapt to the vibrant Parisian atmosphere. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Paris
On our second day in Paris, we delve into France's storied past with a visit to the breathtaking Palace of Versailles. Known for its exquisite gardens, you will have the opportunity to explore this world-renowned monument (please note that admission is not included). Upon our return to Paris, we will wander through Montmartre, a picturesque neighbourhood steeped in artistic tradition, famous for its painters and vibrant cabaret scene. To fully appreciate the magnificence of Paris, we'll embark on a panoramic city tour with an expert local guide, taking in the city's grand avenues and its most celebrated landmarks. The day concludes with a return to our hotel. In the evening, those interested may opt to enjoy a variety show for a delightful glimpse into the city's lively entertainment culture.
Day 3 - Paris - Rouen
On our third day, we'll begin right in the heart of Paris with a visit to the iconic Eiffel Tower. You will have the opportunity to ascend to its second floor, from where you can enjoy marvellous views over this famous landmark (tickets are included). Following this, well take a leisurely cruise along the Seine, providing a different perspective of the citys stunning architecture and vibrant life along the riverbanks. The afternoon is free for you to explore Paris at your leisure. Whether you choose to visit its world-class museums, indulge in some shopping, or simply soak up the atmosphere, the city offers endless possibilities.At 4:00 p.m., well leave Paris behind and journey to Normandy, arriving in the historic city of Rouen. You will have time to wander the old town, rich in medieval architecture and home to an impressive Gothic cathedral. Rouens charm lies in its well-preserved history that dates back to Roman times, and this delightful blend of history and culture is yours to explore at your own pace. Please note, if waiting times at the Eiffel Tower are excessive, we may need to reschedule our visit to another slot, possibly on Sunday, to ensure your convenience and enjoyment.
Day 4 - Rouen - English Channel - Canterbury - London
Today begins with a pleasant stroll through the charming centre of Rouen. Following our morning walk, we proceed in the direction of northern France and embark on a ferry to cross the English Channel. Upon arrival in England, we reach Canterbury, celebrated as the religious heart of the country, with its enchanting historic centre. Our journey then progresses to London, where you will have some free time to explore the area around Tower Bridge, one of the city's most recognisable landmarks, before we make our way to the hotel.
Day 5 - London
In London, our day begins with an enlightening panoramic tour, led by a knowledgeable local guide who will introduce you to the cultural and historical tapestry of this vibrant city. We'll drive past iconic landmarks, including the majestic Parliament, the elegant River Thames, and Buckingham Palace, where you may have the chance to witness the renowned Changing of the Guard, depending on the dates. As evening approaches, we'll set a meeting point in the bustling Piccadilly area. Here, we'll embark on a leisurely walk through the lively districts of Leicester Square, Chinatown, and Soho, areas celebrated for their dynamic atmosphere, vibrant theatres, and myriad entertainment options. Day 6 - London - Colchester - Colchester - Volendam Ferry
We begin our day by exploring the British Museum in London, one of the world's oldest museums, offering a captivating glimpse into diverse cultures from around the globe. Following some leisure time for lunch, venture into the lively district of Camden, famed for its eclectic street market. Here, you can browse through a variety of unique items and sample delicious cuisine from a plethora of street food vendors. In the late afternoon, we set off for Colchester, the oldest recorded town in England. Enjoy a stroll through its historical streets before continuing to Harwich to board our ferry bound for the Netherlands. You'll be accommodated in en suite cabins for a comfortable overnight journey. It's worth noting that plans may change owing to the limited availability of ferry cabins. In such cases, we may opt for a daytime ferry to Amsterdam, with an evening stay in Antwerp, or alternatively, we might travel via train or flight.
Day 7 - Colchester - Volendam Ferry - Volendam - Amsterdam
Our day begins around eight in the morning as we arrive in the Netherlands, disembarking at Hoek van Holland. We head to Volendam, a delightful fishing village known for its picturesque setting. Following our visit to Volendam, we continue to Amsterdam for an insightful guided city tour. We explore several key highlights, including the iconic windmill and the statue of Rembrandt, reflecting the rich history and artistic heritage of the area. We also delve into the contemporary charm of the South District and witness the age-old artistry of diamond cutting in the Museum Square. Our tour concludes with a walk in the heart of Amsterdam, after which youll have the afternoon free to discover the city at your leisure.
Day 8 - Amsterdam - Hamelin - Berlin
Today, we journey from the lively streets of Amsterdam to Germany. After enjoying the picturesque surroundings, we continue our travel through Germany, passing Marienborn, once a pivotal border between East and West Germany until the reunification in 1990. Day 9 - Berlin
Today, we delve into the cultural vibrancy of Berlin, the remarkable capital of Germany. Marvel at the architectural wonders on Museum Island, glimpse the towering Television Tower, and traverse the bustling shopping districts in the city centre. Day 10 - Berlin - Dresden - Prague
Today, we embark on a journey through the scenic landscapes towards Dresden, celebrated for its architectural and artistic splendour. Youll have time to explore some of its remarkable palaces and indulge in a leisurely lunch at one of its many inviting cafs. In the afternoon, our journey continues as we make our way to the Czech Republic, culminating in our arrival in Prague. Once there, well visit the vibrant Old Town Square, a lively area bustling with tourists and locals alike, perfect for your first taste of this captivating city. You are free to choose your dinner from an array of international cuisines at one of the numerous restaurants nearby. After a delightful evening, we will return to our hotel.
Day 11 - Prague
Our day in Prague begins with a guided exploration of this enchanting Baroque city, often heralded as a jewel of Europe. Accompanied by a knowledgeable local guide, we will navigate the city's remarkable landmarks, with an essential visit to Prague Castle included. After absorbing the architectural grandeur, we'll unwind with an included boat ride along the Vltava River, offering a unique perspective of the cityscape. The afternoon is yours to further discover Prague at your leisure, perhaps delving deeper into its rich cultural tapestry or simply enjoying a coffee in one of its charming squares.
Day 12 - Prague - Munich - Innsbruck
We'll begin our day with an early departure towards the charming region of Bavaria, Germany. Upon reaching Munich by midday, youll have the opportunity to amble through its historic city centre and savour a leisurely lunch. In the afternoon, we'll continue our journey into Austria, arriving amidst the majestic Alps. Youll have time to explore Innsbruck, the capital of Tyrol, where you're sure to appreciate the city's unique character. There will be a chance to dine in the picturesque Golden Roof area and experience the charm of the Old Town as you wrap up your day.
Day 13 - Innsbruck - Zurich
Commence your day with a visit to the renowned Swarovski Museum, celebrated for its exquisite crystal creations. We will explore its captivating gardens and delve into the fascinating process of crafting these impressive pieces. Afterwards, you'll have free time to wander around before we make our way to Zurich. As we travel, enjoy the stunning Tyrolean landscapes unfolding outside. Once in Zurich, you can spend your evening in the historic centre by the lake, where a wide array of dining options awaitsfeaturing Indian, Oriental, Italian, International, and Swiss cuisines.
Day 14 - Zurich - Lucerne - Zurich
Today, we set forth on a journey through breathtaking Swiss landscapes, marked by towering mountains and pristine lakes. Our first stop is in the Interlaken region, where we take a break in the picturesque village of Grindelwald. Here, you can savour a cup of coffee amidst stunning views before joining us on a cable car ride up the mountain. At the summit, a gentle path leads us to a suspended bridge, offering daring travellers the chance to experience awe-inspiring views of the surrounding glaciers. A delightful mountain lunch is included before we descend back to the valley.Next, we head to Lucerne, a city celebrated for its beauty and charm. You'll have ample time to explore its cobbled streets, historic architecture, and vibrant atmosphere at your leisure. As our day draws to a close, we return to Zurich. Please note that an optional excursion is available for those who wish to extend their adventure. Following free time in Lucerne, you have the opportunity to ascend Mount Titlis via a rotating cable car. Standing at over 3,000 metres above sea level, this alpine summit offers mesmerising views of the glacier and the sprawling Alps.
Day 15 - Zurich - Bellinzona - Como - Milan
We set off from Zurich early in the morning, crossing the scenic Alps to reach the Italian-speaking region of Switzerland, where our first stop is the historic town of Bellinzona. Famous for its trio of medieval castles all recognised as UNESCO World Heritage Sites Bellinzona stands as a testament to its historical importance as a strategic alpine fortress. Here, you will have some free time to wander the enchanting streets of the town centre. Continuing our journey into Italy, we arrive in the picturesque town of Como, nestled by the lake and famed for its exquisite gardens and stunning cathedral. Youll have the opportunity to savour a leisurely lunch amidst the charming surroundings. Our travels then lead us to Milan, where we will visit the iconic Piazza del Duomo. You'll have time to explore and soak in the vibrant atmosphere before we transfer you to your hotel for the evening.
Day 16 - Milan - Pisa - Rome
We journey onwards to Pisa today and hop aboard a quaint tourist train to reach the Piazza dei Miracoli, also known as the Square of Miracles. Here, you'll have time to marvel at one of Italys most magnificent art complexes, featuring the world-renowned Leaning Tower of Pisa. Having captured the essence of this iconic site, we continue to Rome, where we will arrive later in the day, ready to embrace the history and culture of the Italian capital.
Day 17 - Rome
Today, we embark on a guided exploration of Rome, the Eternal City, renowned for its profound influence on Western civilisation. Our three-hour tour will take us through both Imperial Rome on foot and the city's grand vistas by coach. We'll discover legendary landmarks such as the Arch of Constantine, gaze upon the exterior of the Colosseum, and stroll through the Imperial Forums. Our journey continues past the historical Circus Maximus, the impressive Baths of Caracalla, the magnificent Basilica of Saint Mary Major, and the unique Pyramid of Cestius, culminating at the iconic Castel Sant'Angelo. Our tour concludes around 11 a.m. at the Vatican City. For those interested, there is an optional visit to the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel. Later in the day, we'll transfer you to the vibrant Trastevere neighbourhood, famed for its inviting restaurants and lively atmosphere. We'll head back to the hotel around 8:30 p.m.
Day 18 - Rome - Madrid
On Day 18, you'll make your way from Rome to Madrid. We will arrange a transfer to the airport for your included domestic flight. Once you arrive at your destination, another transfer will be provided to take you to your hotel. In the late afternoon, your guide will get in touch for any further details, or you can check the hotel reception for information. Please remember, domestic flights typically allow one piece of luggage up to 20 kg in the hold, and any extra baggage costs must be settled directly with the airline.
Day 19 - Madrid
Our experience in Madrid begins with an immersive tour of the city's heart, taking in renowned landmarks such as Paseo del Prado, Cibeles, Neptuno, Puerta de Alcal, Plaza de Coln, and Plaza Mayor. Well then stroll through the Retiro Park, a tranquil oasis in Madrid's vibrant centre, where you can admire its picturesque lake and the stunning Palacio de Cristal. Later, well visit the Santiago Bernabu Stadium, home to Real Madrid, recognised by many as the worlds most successful football club admission is included. The afternoon is yours to enjoy at leisure. Later, well provide a transfer back to the hotel.
Day 20 - Madrid - Zaragoza - Poblet - Barcelona
We begin our journey by departing from Madrid and setting our course towards Aragon, traversing the scenic landscapes of Castile. Our first stop will be Zaragoza, where we'll visit the captivating Cathedral-Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar. This magnificent structure is a sight to behold, offering an enriching cultural experience. Next, we'll travel to the tranquil Poblet Abbey, renowned for its medieval architecture and being one of the worlds best-preserved monasteries. Tickets for the abbey are included, allowing us to deeply appreciate its historical significance and serene beauty. Our day will conclude as we make our way to Barcelona, arriving in the evening, where new adventures await.
Day 21 - Barcelona
Our day in Barcelona begins with a captivating panoramic tour showcasing its status as one of Europe's most exciting capitals. Situated by the Mediterranean, Barcelona is celebrated for Gauds innovative modernist architecture and lively areas like the Ramblas. The city is steeped in a rich historical heritage, having hosted the momentous Universal Exposition and the Olympics.
