Day 1 - Paris
Upon your arrival in Paris, we will provide a transfer to your hotel. Once settled, you'll have some time to unwind and explore the city at your own pace. In the afternoon, we'll share important details about the start of your tour, either in person or via information signs at the hotel reception. This allows you to prepare for the exciting journey ahead. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Paris
Today, we delve into the fascinating history of France with a visit to the opulent Palace of Versailles. Known for its extensive and beautifully landscaped gardens, Versailles is a highlight for many travellers (admission is not included). Upon returning to Paris, we explore the artistic enclave of Montmartre, a bohemian neighbourhood famed for its vibrant artists and lively cabarets. Our journey through Paris continues with a panoramic city tour led by a local guide, giving us a glimpse of the city's expansive avenues and celebrated landmarks. After an inspiring day, we'll return to our hotel. For those interested in a lively evening, there is the option to attend a variety show.
Day 3 - Paris - Rouen
Our third day in Paris begins with a visit to one of the city's most iconic landmarks, the Eiffel Tower. Youll have the opportunity to ascend to the second floor of this celebrated iron structure, with entry tickets included in your tour. Following this, we will enjoy a leisurely cruise along the River Seine, taking in the delightful views as we glide past some of Paris's most famous sights. The afternoon is yours to explore Paris at your own pace, allowing you to delve deeper into the charming streets and discover hidden gems. At around 4:00 p.m., well leave Paris behind as we journey to Normandy, arriving in the historic city of Rouen. Youll have free time to wander the citys historic centre, which showcases a blend of Roman history and medieval architecture, including an impressive Gothic cathedral. Should there be lengthy queues at the Eiffel Tower, we may rearrange our visit to ensure your convenience.
Day 4 - Rouen - English Channel - Canterbury - London
We begin the day by exploring the picturesque heart of Rouen. Once you've had a chance to soak in its medieval charm, we'll set off for northern France. Our route takes us across the English Channel by ferry, where you'll be captivated by the views. Upon arrival in England, we head to Canterbury, celebrated as the spiritual hub of the nation. You'll have time to wander through its quaint historic centre, rich with stories and heritage. Later, we continue to London. In the Tower Bridge area, you'll have some leisure time to explore one of the city's most iconic landmarks before we make our way to the hotel for the evening.
Day 5 - London
On Day 5, immerse yourself in the vibrant culture and rich history of London on a panoramic tour guided by a local expert. This journey through the city will introduce you to iconic landmarks, including the Houses of Parliament, the majestic River Thames, and Buckingham Palace. Here, depending on the date, you might witness the ceremonial Changing of the Guard. In the evening, we'll reconvene in the bustling area of Piccadilly for a delightful stroll through Leicester Square, Chinatown, and Soho. These lively districts are known for their theatres, vibrant nightlife, and diverse dining options. Youll have a wide selection of restaurants to choose from for dinner before we return to the hotel, ready for another exciting day ahead.
Day 6 - London - Cambridge - York - Durham
Departing London, we journey north to Cambridge, home to one of the worlds most esteemed universities. Here, we shall wander among the historic colleges, each with its own unique architectural charm. After taking in the scholarly atmosphere, we continue our travels to the historic city of York. Known for its impressive Gothic cathedral and ancient Roman walls, York also boasts vibrant shopping streets that offer a lively contrast. You'll have some free time to explore these intriguing sights at your own pace. Our day concludes as we proceed further north to Durham, a medieval town celebrated for its stunning cathedral standing proudly opposite the castle.
Day 7 - Durham - Alnwick - Edinburgh
We'll journey north into Scotland, making a stop in the enchanting town of Alnwick, renowned for its exquisite gardens and its majestic medieval castle, which gained fame as a filming location for the Harry Potter series. Our adventure continues to Edinburgh, where we plan to arrive by midday. As the capital of Scotland, Edinburgh stands out as one of Northern Europe's most vibrant cities, with its city centre designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, we'll explore the historic streets and lush parks, all watched over by the imposing Edinburgh Castle perched above. We'll engage in a panoramic tour of this remarkable city, led by a knowledgeable local guide.
Day 8 - Edinburgh - Inverness - Loch Ness - Fort Augustus - Glasgow
Today promises an exhilarating adventure through the Scottish Highlands. We begin with a relaxing coffee and a walk in the charming village of Pitlochry. Afterwards, our route takes us through Inverness, set near the enigmatic Loch Ness. You'll then explore the storied remains of Urquhart Castle (admission included), followed by a boat ride on the mysterious dark waters of the loch. Continuing our journey, we'll pass through Fort Augustus with its impressive lock system before reaching Fort William, located at the base of Ben Nevis, the highest peak in the UK. As we head south, we'll cross the stunning highland plateaus, where snow often graces the landscape, and travel along the scenic shores of Loch Lomond. By evening, we'll arrive in Glasgow to conclude a truly remarkable day.For groups visiting Edinburgh from November 15th to the end of February, the shorter daylight hours and potential snow alter our itinerary. We start with an early departure for Pitlochry, renowned for whisky production. Here, you'll visit a traditional distillery (admission included) before continuing to the historic city of Stirling. Dominated by its grand castle - one of the most significant in Scotland - Stirling offers a fascinating glimpse into the country's storied past. After lunch and capturing photos of the iconic Kelpies, we'll proceed to Glasgow, arriving by 5:00 p.m. with enough time for a leisurely exploration of the city centre.
Day 9 - Glasgow - Belfast - Dublin
Today, we embark on a journey from Glasgow towards the southern part of Scotland to catch a ferry at Cairnryan. Our adventure takes us across the sea to Northern Ireland, where we arrive in Belfast. Belfast, the capital of Northern Ireland, is a city brimming with monumental architecture and vibrant murals, having emerged from a history marked by religious conflict. Here, you can get a sense of both its tumultuous past and promising future. As we continue our journey, we move into Eire, Ireland, and head towards our final destination of the day, Dublin. Expect to arrive by the evening, ready to explore the Irish capital's lively atmosphere.
Day 10 - Dublin
Today, we'll delve into the charming capital of Ireland with a guided panoramic tour of Dublin. Our exploration begins along the serene banks of the River Liffey, where well visit its picturesque parks and historic university. As we wander through the dynamic downtown streets, we'll also have the opportunity to view the exterior of the renowned Trinity College, a landmark of the city. The afternoon is yours to enjoy at your own pace, giving you the perfect chance to explore Dublins rich culture and vibrant atmosphere. Please note that depending on our arrival time in Dublin and daylight availability, the tour might be conducted the previous afternoon.
Day 11 - Dublin
