Day 1 - Paris
Welcome to Paris! Upon your arrival, we will provide a convenient transfer to your hotel, where you can enjoy some leisure time as you settle in. In the afternoon, you will receive important information about the start of your tour. This may be delivered in person or accessed via the information signs located at the hotel reception. Enjoy the remainder of your day in vibrant Paris at your own pace. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Paris
On our second day, we delve into the fascinating history of France with a visit to the splendid Palace of Versailles. Known for its opulent architecture and exquisite gardens, this landmark captures the essence of French grandeur (please note that entrance fees are not included). As we return to Paris, we explore Montmartre, a delightful bohemian quarter celebrated for its vibrant art scene, cabarets, and vibrant street life. We then embark on a panoramic city tour of Paris with a knowledgeable local guide, introducing us to the city's majestic boulevards and renowned landmarks. The day concludes with a return to our hotel. For those interested, there's an option to enjoy an evening variety show.
Day 3 - Paris - Tours
On our third day, we begin in the vibrant heart of Paris with a visit to the iconic Eiffel Tower. You'll have the opportunity to ascend to the second floor, with admission included a perfect start for taking in the breathtaking views of the city. Following this, we embark on a leisurely boat cruise along the Seine, lasting about one hour and fifteen minutes, offering a unique perspective of Paris from its famous river.The afternoon is yours to explore Paris at your leisure. Whether you're drawn to the allure of the bustling streets, the charm of a quaint caf, or the rich cultural attractions, the city is yours to discover. At 5:30 p.m., we gather to leave Paris and set off for the enchanting Loire Valley. Our destination is the city of Tours, the capital of the region, where we aim to arrive in the evening. We suggest you enjoy a relaxed dinner and a leisurely walk through Tours beautiful historic centre, a delightful way to cap off your day. Please note that due to possible long waits at the Eiffel Tower, your visit might be rescheduled for a different time or on Sunday for logistical reasons.
Day 4 - Tours - Bordeaux - Lourdes
Today, we travel southwards through the famous vineyards, eventually arriving in Bordeaux, whose city centre is recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You'll have some free time to enjoy lunch and explore the area we suggest checking out the Port of the Moon and the impressive Cathedral of St. Andrew. Our route then continues towards the Pyrenees, reaching Lourdes by late afternoon. Here, you can experience the serene candlelight procession, which takes place from late March until the end of October, and visit the various significant places of worship. Dinner is included at the hotel for all of our guests.
Day 5 - Lourdes - Carcassonne - Foix - Andorra
Today, we embark on a captivating journey through the south of France, beginning in the enchanting city of Carcassonne. Here, you will have ample time to explore and enjoy lunch amidst its renowned medieval walls and impressive castle, which together create the picturesque historic district known as La Cit. Once we've soaked in Carcassonne's charm, our route takes us towards the Pyrenees, where we will briefly stop in the medieval town of Foix, admired for the striking Chteau de Foix.Continuing our scenic drive through the Pyrenees, where snowy peaks provide a breathtaking backdrop throughout the year, we will enter the small but distinctive country of Andorra. During our journey, we will pause at Sant Joan de Caselles, a small 12th-century Romanesque church, to appreciate its historical significance.Arriving in Andorra la Vella, the bustling capital, you'll have free time to delve into the city's vibrant commercial life or visit Caldea, the largest thermal spa in Europe. Dinner will be provided, allowing you to cap off a day of exploration with a relaxing meal.
Day 6 - Andorra - Montserrat - Barcelona
Today, you'll have the morning free to explore Andorra's shopping opportunities or take a leisurely walk. After lunch, we'll set off towards Catalonia, enjoying the picturesque mountain countryside on the way. Our journey will take us to the awe-inspiring Santa Maria de Montserrat Abbey. Here, we'll ascend the mountain via a rack train (included) to admire the breathtaking scenery. Once we've explored the sanctuary, we'll continue our travels to Barcelona, where we expect to arrive by late afternoon.
Day 7 - Barcelona
In the morning, we will set off on a panoramic tour of Barcelona, celebrated as one of Europe's most captivating capitals. This lively city, set by the Mediterranean, is famous for its rich history, the bustling Ramblas, and Gaudi's modernist architectural masterpieces. After appreciating the city's vibrant atmosphere, you will have the afternoon free to explore at your own pace. In the evening, we will transfer you to Maremagnum, a modern entertainment and dining complex by the sea near Plaza de Coln. Here, you can enjoy a pleasant walk through the animated area and select from a variety of dining options.
Day 8 - Barcelona - Peniscola - Valencia
We will journey south along the Mediterranean coast, making a stop in Pescola. This delightful medieval town, encircled by beautiful beaches, offers you the perfect opportunity for a leisurely walk. Continuing on, we will arrive in Valencia around lunchtime. In the afternoon, a local guide will lead us through this historic port city on the Levantine coast, showcasing its rich tapestry of over 2,000 years of history. Valencia's urban landscape is a captivating mix of ancient monuments and the avant-garde architecture of the City of Arts and Sciences. After the tour, you will have some free time to explore the city further at your own pace. A traditional local dinner is included, offering a taste of Valencias culinary delights.
Day 9 - Valencia - Alicante - Caravaca de la Cruz - Granada
We will set off on a delightful journey to the captivating city of Alicante, where you can enjoy a serene stroll along its beautiful coastline. Following lunch, our adventure continues to the Murcia region, where well visit Caravaca de la Cruz a site of religious significance acknowledged as a Holy City by the Roman Catholic Church, owing to the relic of the Cross housed within its church. A journey on the tourist train will take us to the historic district. Our day concludes with a picturesque drive through scenic roads as we head towards Andalusia, wrapping up our travels with an overnight stay in Granada, where dinner awaits.
Day 10 - Granada
Today, we dedicate the day to exploring the enchanting city of Granada. Depending on your ticket status, we'll visit the spectacular Alhambra Palace and its exquisite Generalife Gardens, both stunning examples of Moorish architecture and design. In the afternoon, you'll have the freedom to explore Granada at your own pace, perhaps discovering the city's rich history, including the majestic cathedral, home to the tombs of the Catholic Monarchs. Please note that access to the Alhambra is strictly regulated, and to secure your spot, it is crucial to provide accurate personal details when booking your tour. Should admission to the Alhambra not be possible, we'll offer an equally enriching visit to the Royal Alczar of Seville instead, known for its historical and architectural significance.
Day 11 - Granada - Malaga - Marbella - Ronda - Seville
Today, we depart from Granada and head towards the beautiful Costa del Sol. Our first stop is the vibrant city of Malaga, where you'll have time to explore the historic district, known for its impressive cathedral and the renowned Picasso Museum. As we continue along the coastal highway, enjoy stunning views of the Mediterranean before arriving at Puerto Bans in Marbellaa chic and sophisticated harbour known for its luxury yachts and exclusive shops.In the afternoon, we'll make our way through the mountains towards the picturesque town of Ronda. Famous for its dramatic cliffside location and the deep canyon dividing the town, Ronda offers a unique glimpse into Andalusian history and architecture. As our day draws to a close, we'll continue to Seville, arriving by evening, where a delightful dinner awaits us at the hotel.
Day 12 - Seville
On day 12, we will explore the vibrant city of Seville. Our morning begins with a city tour, where we'll visit the remarkable cathedral, crowned with the renowned Giralda, a stunning example of Islamic architecture adapted into a bell tower. We'll wander along the banks of the Guadalquivir River, taking in the lively atmosphere of the Santa Cruz and Triana neighbourhoods, each with their unique character and historic charm. Following the tour, you'll have the opportunity to relax on a scenic boat trip along the Guadalquivir River, enjoying panoramic views of the city from the water. In the evening, you have the option to experience a traditional flamenco tablao, immersing yourself in the passionate rhythms and vibrant culture of Andalusia.
Day 13 - Seville - Merida - Evora - Lisbon
As we depart from Seville, our journey leads us through the picturesque landscapes of rolling hills and vast pasturelands towards Extremadura. Our first stop is in Mrida, where admission to the Archaeological Ensemble is included. Here, you can marvel at the remarkably well-preserved Roman Theatre and Amphitheatre, both proudly recognised as World Heritage Sites. Enjoy time for lunch and a leisurely walk through the lively pedestrian historic centre, brimming with restaurants and the charm of local culture. Afterwards, we travel to Portugal, pausing in vora, another enchanting World Heritage Site known for its striking whitewashed streets, exquisite Renaissance palaces, and impressive cathedral. Our day concludes with an evening arrival in Lisbon, ready for the adventures awaiting us tomorrow.
Day 14 - Lisbon
Today, we'll discover the captivating sights of Lisbon, the charming capital built upon seven hills. Our morning begins with a guided tour through its winding alleys, adorned with iconic Portuguese tiles. We'll explore the historic Belm district, a significant site from which Portuguese explorers once set sail during the Age of Discovery in the 15th century. The afternoon is yours to wander, allowing you the freedom to explore the vibrant Bairro Alto with its stunning views over the city. You may also choose to take an optional excursion to the picturesque towns of Sintra, Cascais, and Estoril. In the evening, we'll regroup and make our way back to the hotel from Restauradores Square, an area teeming with lively bars and cafes, perfect for capturing the essence of Lisbon's vibrant nightlife.
Day 15 - Lisbon - Caceres - Madrid
Departing early from Portugal, we'll traverse the picturesque Alentejo region, stopping for a brief pause to enjoy a coffee in the quaint town of Estremoz. Known for its medieval castle, cobbled streets, and striking architecture, Estremoz offers a serene glimpse into Portuguese heritage. As we journey onwards towards Spain, our next stop is Cceres. Here, youll have the opportunity to savour lunch and take a leisurely walk through its historic centre, famed for its impeccably preserved medieval and Renaissance architecture. Our day concludes as we proceed to Madrid, arriving in the evening where a vibrant atmosphere awaits you at Plaza Mayor, brimming with restaurants and lively activity.
Day 16 - Madrid
Begin your day in Madrid with a captivating tour through the city centre, where you're treated to sights of the Paseo del Prado, the stately Cibeles, and the fountains at Neptuno. Well continue to Puerta de Alcal and then visit Plaza de Coln, before reaching the historic Plaza Mayor. Our exploration will then lead us to the serene Retiro Park, a tranquil haven in the heart of the city, featuring a lovely lake and the charming Palacio de Cristal. As part of our day's experience, well visit the Santiago Bernabu Stadium, home to the legendary Real Madrid celebrated as one of the finest football clubs in the world. After enjoying the morning's excursion, you'll have the afternoon free to discover more of Madrid at your own pace. In the evening, well ensure a comfortable transfer back to the hotel.
