Day 1 - Tallinn
Upon your arrival in Tallinn, we'll provide your transfer to the hotel, allowing you some leisure time to settle in and start exploring at your own pace. In the afternoon, check the boards at the hotel reception for details about the start of your adventure. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Tallinn
On your second day in Tallinn, you'll immerse yourself in the timeless charm of Estonia's capital. This beautiful city has managed to preserve its medieval heart, offering a captivating experience as you embark on a panoramic tour. We'll explore the city walls, ancient churches, bustling squares, and cobbled streets, each offering a glimpse of Tallinn's rich history and vibrant culture. Once the guided tour concludes, you will have the afternoon free to wander the enchanting streets at your own pace, visiting any attractions that catch your interest or perhaps relaxing at a local caf.
Day 3 - Tallinn - Parnu - Turaida - Sigulda - Salaspils - Riga
On day three, we journey through Estonia's lush forests and flatlands to reach Prnu, a favoured seaside retreat known for its charming sandy beaches. After a brief stop, we'll cross into Latvia, where a leisurely lunch awaits. Our first visit is to the medieval Turaida Castle, set within an expansive park adorned with sculpturesan impressive testament to the region's history. Following this, you'll have the opportunity to stroll around Sigulda, a picturesque town nestled in stunning natural surroundings. The day continues with a visit to the Salaspils Memorial, a poignant site that honours the victims of a World War II era concentration camp. Established in 1967, this solemn memorial is among Europe's largest and serves as a reflective pause in our journey. We conclude the day with an evening arrival in Riga, the vibrant Latvian capital.
Day 4 - Riga
Today's exploration of Riga begins with a panoramic tour included in your itinerary. We delve into the vibrant capital, the largest city in the Baltic states, where elements from the Soviet era can still be observed. Riga is celebrated not only for its rich cultural centre but also for its medieval Historic Centre and splendid Art Nouveau architecture. The afternoon is yours to enjoy at leisure, perhaps to wander the charming streets or discover hidden gems in the city.
Day 5 - Riga - Rundale - Vilnius
We start the morning early, setting off for Lithuania. On our route, we have the pleasure of visiting the magnificent Rundale Palace. Designed by the same architect as St Petersburg's Hermitage Museum, this Baroque masterpiece is a testament to architectural elegance. Continuing our journey across the border into Lithuania, you'll notice this nations strong Catholic heritage, epitomised by the awe-inspiring Hill of Crossesa fascinating site adorned with thousands of crosses in varying sizes. A delightful lunch is included along the way. Later, we make our way to Trakai, where you can admire the stunning lakeside castle perched on an island near Vilnius. We'll wrap up the day arriving at the vibrant city of Vilnius. Please note that our visit to Trakai may shift to Wednesday, contingent upon daylight conditions.
Day 6 - Vilnius
We will start our day with a panoramic tour of Vilnius, a city gracefully settled on seven hills, often drawing comparisons to Rome. As we explore, you'll encounter its stunning Baroque churches, historic walls, and the majestic castle, alongside the vibrant commercial streets at the citys heart. Our tour will also introduce you to the impressive 1,200 medieval houses dotting the landscape. The afternoon is yours to enjoy at leisureperfect for delving deeper into the local culture or simply soaking in the atmosphere at your own pace.
Day 7 - Vilnius
After enjoying breakfast, your tour concludes, leaving you with cherished memories of your adventure.
