Itinerary
Day 1 - Arrival in Cairo!
Once you have arrived in Cairo, you will be met and transferred to the hotel for check-in. The representative will assist with check-in and provide a briefing on the itinerary and pick-up times for each tour. You will then have the rest of the day at your leisure.
Please note: Your guide may adjust the itinerary due to weather, road conditions, or unforeseen issues, always prioritising safety. Our aim is to ensure all key programme highlights are experienced.
Day 2 - Exploring Cairo’s Spiritual Heritage
This morning, you’ll begin with a visit to the striking Alabaster Mosque of Muhammad Ali, a key landmark for understanding Islamic traditions in Egypt. Completed in 1848, this grand Ottoman-style mosque has dominated Cairo’s skyline for more than 150 years.
Afterwards, you’ll head to the heart of Coptic Cairo to explore its most significant Christian sites, including the famous Hanging Church, St Sergius Church and the Ben Ezra Synagogue – all places traditionally associated with the Holy Family’s flight into Egypt. Later, return to your hotel, where you will have the rest of the day at leisure.
Day 3 - Memphis, Saqqara & Fayoum
Cairo - Memphis - Saqqara - Fayoum. Today, you’ll travel a short distance to Memphis, Egypt’s ancient capital, founded around 3,100 BC by King Menes, who united Upper and Lower Egypt. Memphis is traditionally believed to be where Abraham lied to Pharaoh about Sarah, and where Joseph later rose to become Pharaoh’s second in command. While here, you’ll view the impressive and remarkably well-preserved colossal statue of Ramses II.
Next, you’ll continue to Saqqara, one of Egypt’s most remarkable archaeological sites. Dominating the landscape is the Step Pyramid of King Zoser, dating back to around 2700 BC and recognised as one of the oldest stone structures in the world. This vast necropolis offers a fascinating glimpse into Egypt’s early dynastic period.
In the afternoon, you’ll drive south to Fayoum, a region closely connected with the story of Joseph. Tradition holds that Joseph ordered the canal that formed Fayoum’s man-made lake, transforming the desert into fertile farmland and allowing Egypt to endure the seven-year famine. Here, you’ll see traces of ancient storehouses and the landscape that reflects this extraordinary Biblical legacy.
Day 4 - Giza Pyramids & Grand Egyptian Museum
Cairo - Pyramids of Giza - Cairo. Today, you'll be picked up from your hotel for a guided excursion to the Giza Plateau. Here, you'll explore the world-famous Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren and Mykerinus. You'll then visit the Great Sphinx, a limestone statue with the body of a lion and the head of a pharaoh, believed to represent King Chephren.
Next, you'll head to the Grand Egyptian Museum, located about 2 kilometres from the pyramid complex. Also known as the Giza Museum, it is one of the largest archaeological museums in the world and houses an extraordinary collection of artefacts, including many from the tomb of Tutankhamun. After your visit, you'll return to your hotel.
Day 5 - Departure from Cairo
After your final breakfast, depending on your flight schedule, you may have time to explore Cairo further, do some last-minute shopping, or simply relax before your transfer to the airport for your onward journey. Safe travels!
