Day 1 - Copenhagen
Upon your arrival in Copenhagen, we'll arrange your transfer to the hotel, ensuring a smooth start to your adventure. You'll have some free time upon settling in, allowing you to begin exploring this vibrant city at your own pace. Later in the afternoon, ensure you check the information boards in the hotel reception for all the essential details about your upcoming tour. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Copenhagen - Rostock - Szczecin
Following a hearty breakfast, we'll set off for the charming town of Gedser, located at the southern tip of Scandinavia. Around 11 a.m., we'll board a state-of-the-art ferry bound for Germany, crossing the Baltic Sea for approximately two hours. We suggest enjoying lunch on board during this scenic journey. Upon arrival in Rostock, you'll have time to discover this vibrant city, home to Germany's largest port on the Baltic. Its bustling old town is adorned with notable sites such as the Market Square, the City Hall, and St. Mary's Church. After exploring Rostock, we'll continue our travels through the picturesque Pomerania region, venturing into Poland. By evening, we'll reach Szczecin, a city steeped in history on the banks of the Oder River. Its captivating historic centre boasts attractions like the Pomeranian Dukes' Castle and lovely riverside terraces, where you'll have free time to wander and absorb the unique atmosphere.
Day 3 - Szczecin - Bydgoszcz - Torun - Warsaw
Following breakfast, we will journey through the serene regions of western Poland, a territory that remained part of Germany until the close of World War II. Our first destination is Bydgoszcz, where you'll have time to meander through this historic city, celebrated for its captivating architecture, tranquil parks, and the canals linking the Vistula and Oder rivers. Enjoy a leisurely lunch before we press on with our travels. Our next stop is Toru?, a splendid Gothic city encircled by walls, renowned for its remarkable historical centre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and as the birthplace of the famed astronomer Copernicus. You will have a chance to explore, and if you wish, you can visit his museum-house. Later, we will continue our journey towards Warsaw, the capital city of Poland, reaching our destination by nightfall.
Day 4 - Warsaw
Begin your day in Warsaw with a panoramic tour led by a local guide. As the political and economic heart of Poland, Warsaw is a dynamic city with nearly two million residents. We'll explore the enchanting old town, meticulously rebuilt after its World War II destruction and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where you'll see the Royal Palace and wander the cobbled streets. Our tour will also take us to the Palace of Culture a distinctive skyscraper gifted by the Soviet Union. We'll reflect on historical events at the site that was once the largest Jewish ghetto in Europe and enjoy a stroll through ?azienki Park, home to the elegant Chopin Monument. In the afternoon, you're free to explore further. Consider visiting the National Museum or the Warsaw Rising Museum, or enjoy the bustling city centre with its shops and activities.
Day 5 - Warsaw - Olsztyn - Elblag Canal - Malbork - Gdansk
After breakfast, we journey northwards through Poland. Our first destination is Olsztynek, where we'll explore the open-air Museum of Folk Architecture. Admission is included, allowing us to appreciate the collection of wooden houses, old mills, and a traditional church, offering a glimpse into Poland's past. Continuing, we head to the Elblag Canal, the longest navigable canal in the country, with an intriguing museum where we observe the unique system used to transport boats overland on tracks as they conquer elevation changes. Later, we visit Malbork Castle (admission included, green route), a formidable medieval fortress built by the Teutonic Order in the 13th century, now recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. By evening, we'll arrive in Gdansk, formerly known as Danzig. The city's historic centre, noted for its captivating architecture, presents a lively sceneperfect for an evening wander to absorb its vibrant ambience.
Day 6 - Gdansk - Sopot - Sopot - Nynshamn Ferry
Following breakfast, we shall set off with our guide to explore Gdansks European Solidarity Centre. This compelling modern structure honours the Solidarity movement, pivotal in the Soviet Union's collapse. Notably, well see the memorial dedicated to the workers who lost their lives. Admission to the Museum of the Second World War is included, where youll gain insight into the significant impact of the conflict on Poland and its people. Once weve finished, there will be time to wander through the historic centre. Afterwards, we will head to Sopot, a delightful seaside resort on the Baltic coast. Known for its lively ambiance, Sopot boasts a sandy beach and one of Europe's longest wooden piers, offering spectacular sea views. In the evening, we will board a sleek ferry for our departure to Sweden. The ferry is scheduled to leave at 7:30 p.m., and well spend the night in comfortable cabins with breakfast included.
Day 7 - Sopot - Nynshamn Ferry - Stockholm
Having arrived in Karlskrona early in the morning, we will continue our journey to Stockholm, making a stop in Vstervik. This charming seaside town is known for its quaint historic centre and offers a perfect taste of Swedish coastal life. In the afternoon, we will arrive in Stockholm, the capital of Sweden. This stunning city is uniquely spread over fourteen islands connected by bridges and ferries, set within the beautiful Baltic Sea archipelago. Known for its rich history and impressive architecture, Stockholm effortlessly blends modern innovation with timeless tradition. You have the afternoon free to explore at your leisure. We recommend wandering through the historic centre, taking in the vibrant atmosphere, and perhaps visiting some of the city's renowned museums and parks for a richer experience of Swedish culture and heritage.
Day 8 - Stockholm
Today, we will embark on an engaging panoramic tour of Stockholm, a stunning capital city spread over 14 islands. Our adventure begins in Gamla Stan, the vibrant old town often referred to as "the city between bridges." Here, we will explore significant landmarks, including the Nobel Prize Museum, which stands proudly next to Stortorget, the historic main square celebrating Nobel laureates. Our visit will also take us to the magnificent Cathedral and the impressive Royal Palace. Whenever possible, we'll head to the Fjllgatan viewpoint to take in breathtaking views of the city. The rest of the day is yours to enjoy at your own pace. We recommend exploring Stockholms various museums and parks. If you wish, you might also visit the City Hall or the Vasa Museum.
Day 9 - Stockholm
Following breakfast, our tour concludes, and you'll depart with cherished memories of your journey.
