Day 1 - Copenhagen
Welcome to your Nordic journey! Upon your arrival in Copenhagen, we'll ensure a smooth transfer to your hotel. Once settled, youll have time to unwind and start exploring this vibrant city at your own pace. In the afternoon, you can gather essential details about the start of our adventure from the information boards located in the hotel reception area. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Copenhagen - Odense - Aarhus
We begin our second day with an enlightening panoramic tour of Copenhagen, the dynamic capital of Denmark, led by a knowledgeable local guide. As the largest city in Scandinavia, Copenhagen offers a captivating blend of contrasts. Well experience the vibrant atmosphere of Tivoli Gardens, the stately Christiansborg Palace, the picturesque terraces of Nyhavn, and the world-famous Little Mermaid statue. Later in the morning, our journey continues as we head towards Jutland. The route takes us across a breathtaking 20 km-long bridge that spans the sea, making our way to Odense. Here, we invite you to explore the Gothic cathedral and visit the house of H.C. Andersen, the beloved fairy tale author who hails from this charming city.Upon reaching Aarhus in the afternoon, youll have free time to explore at your leisure. Discover the cultural pulse of Denmarks second-largest city, known for its vibrant arts scene and rich history. Whether you choose to explore the museums, enjoy a quiet walk along the waterfront, or simply relax in a local caf, Aarhus offers a delightful end to your day.
Day 3 - Aarhus - Kristiansand Ferry - Kristiansand - Stavanger
On the third day of our tour, well head to Hirtshals to catch a ferry across the North Sea to Norway. This three-hour crossing will take us to the scenic town of Kristiansand. Once on Norwegian soil, well continue our journey along the picturesque southern coastline, making a delightful stop in Flekkefjord. Our day will conclude with our arrival in Stavanger, a vibrant town with a charming port nestled by the fjord. Please note that ferry schedules can vary with the season, but typically there is ample time to enjoy lunch on board.
Day 4 - Stavanger - Bergen
As we depart from Stavanger, our first stop is the impressive Swords in Rock monument, celebrating the Viking legacy. Continuing along Norways breathtaking fjord coast, well travel through a network of tunnels and bridges, including one of the world's deepest underwater tunnels. The journey includes two memorable boat trips, offering a relaxing and spectacular experience. Upon arriving in Bergen around lunchtime, we ride a cable car to the summit of Mount Flyen, where well be treated to stunning views over the town and the surrounding fjords. After our scenic ascent, youll have free time to explore the vibrant city, often referred to as the capital of the fjords.
Day 5 - Bergen - Sognefjord - Oslo
Our day in Bergen promises an extraordinary exploration of Norway's natural splendour. As we journey, we'll be surrounded by the breathtaking landscapes of fjords, glaciers, lakes, and forests. Our first highlight is Sognefjord, the largest and most renowned fjord in Norway. En route, we'll pause to admire the majestic Tvindefossen Waterfall. This natural wonder is known for its striking beauty and provides an excellent photo opportunity.Following this, we embark on an unforgettable cruise from Gudvangen to Aurland, lasting approximately one and a half hours. During our voyage, you'll be treated to awe-inspiring views of the surrounding landscape. We suggest having lunch on board to fully savour the experience. Continuing our travels, we navigate through stunning snow-covered vistas and traverse the Aurland Tunnel, recognised as the world's longest road tunnel.A brief stop at Borgund allows us to appreciate the exterior of its stave church, celebrated as Norway's best-preserved medieval wooden church. As our adventure continues, we'll arrive in Oslo. Here, youll have the freedom to explore at your leisure, with the opportunity to visit the vibrant port area, wander through the main streets, or admire the striking sculptures in Frogner Park.
Day 6 - Oslo - Orebro - Stockholm
Our day begins with an insightful guided tour of Oslo, a city where modern architecture harmonises with classical structures amidst lush parks adorned with sculptures. Named the European Green Capital, Oslo is a city that embraces sustainability. After our tour, you'll have the chance to explore the city at your own pace. As we continue our journey, we head towards Sweden, travelling through picturesque landscapes of forests and lakes. Our next stop is rebro, a scenic town nestled by a tranquil lake, featuring a castle and a charming old town. Take some time for a leisurely stroll before we resume our travels, reaching Stockholm in the evening.
Day 7 - Stockholm
Today we immerse ourselves in Stockholm, a splendid city that spans 14 interlinked islands. We'll embark on a panoramic tour, beginning with Gamla Stan, Stockholm's charming old quarter, often referred to as "the city between bridges". Here, you'll find the Nobel Prize Museum nestled beside Stortorget's main square, honouring the prestigious award's laureates. Other notable landmarks include the Cathedral and the Royal Palace. Whenever the opportunity presents itself, well take in the breathtaking views from Fjllgatan. After the tour, you're free to explore further at your own pace. We suggest visiting the city's selection of museums and parks. For those interested, consider visiting the City Hall and the fascinating Vasa Museum, both offering enriching insights into Sweden's history and culture.
Day 8 - Stockholm - Stockholm - Turku Ferry
Your day in Stockholm is entirely yours to explore as you wish. You might choose to delve into the citys rich cultural offerings, including its array of museums or vibrant parks, or simply wander through its historic streets, soaking up the distinctive atmosphere of this Scandinavian capital. In the evening, well set out on an overnight journey to Finland aboard a modern ferry. Relax in comfort as you settle into your double en-suite cabin, ready for tomorrows Finnish adventures.
Day 9 - Stockholm - Turku Ferry - Naantali - Helsinki
As dawn breaks, we suggest heading to the ship's deck to witness the enchanting landscapes of the land Islands, an archipelago of verdant, forested isles. Upon docking, there will be time to discover Turku, a city rich in Swedish heritage. Our travels then lead us to Naantali, a picturesque coastal town known for its charming wooden houses. Continuing onwards, we will reach Helsinki around midday. The afternoon will be yours to explore the Finnish capital at your leisure, with opportunities to visit the vibrant old market, marvel at the Russian-influenced architecture, and admire the city's stunning churches.
Day 10 - Helsinki - Helsinki - Tallinn Ferry - Tallinn
Our day begins with a captivating boat trip to the Suomenlinna Islands, a cluster of six islands guarding the citys entrance. This strategically significant fortress, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, invites exploration with its historical charm and scenic views, connected by pedestrian bridges. After our morning adventure, well travel by ferry for about two and a half hours to Estonia. As you bid farewell to Helsinki, take in the breathtaking vistas of the surrounding islands. Later, well arrive in Tallinn in the evening.
Day 11 - Tallinn
Today, we explore the enchanting capital of Estonia, Tallinn, renowned for its well-preserved medieval heart. We will take you on a panoramic tour to discover the city's ancient walls, magnificent churches, bustling squares, and charming medieval streets, all brimming with cultural and historical landmarks. In the afternoon, you will have free time to further explore at your own pace. Whether you're drawn to the captivating architecture or the vibrant atmosphere, Tallinn promises to be a highlight of your journey.
