Day 1 - Copenhagen
Welcome to your extraordinary journey through Scandinavia! Well arrange for your transfer to the hotel upon your arrival in Copenhagen, allowing you some time to unwind and explore at your own pace. Later in the afternoon, you can gather information about the commencement of your tour, conveniently displayed on the boards at the hotel reception. With the rest of the day free, you might consider taking a leisurely stroll through this vibrant city. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Copenhagen - Odense - Aarhus
In the morning, we will set off on a panoramic tour of Copenhagen, the vibrant capital of Denmark. Accompanied by a local guide, we will explore this bustling city, renowned for its blend of modern design and historical charm. Our tour will include highlights such as the famous Tivoli Gardens, Christiansborg Palace, the picturesque terraces at Nyhavn, and the iconic Little Mermaid statue. As the morning progresses, we will embark on our journey towards the region of Jutland, traversing an impressive 20 km sea bridge. Our first stop will be in Odense, the birthplace of famed storyteller H.C. Andersen, where we will have the opportunity to visit the city's Gothic cathedral and Andersen's House. Later in the day, we will make our way to Aarhus, where you will have free time to explore at your own pace.
Day 3 - Aarhus - Kristiansand Ferry - Kristiansand - Stavanger
On day three, we embark on a journey from Aarhus to Hirtshals, where we board a ferry for a three-hour crossing of the North Sea to reach Norway. This voyage takes us to Kristiansand, from where we continue our travels along the scenic southern coast of Norway. Our route brings us to the quaint town of Flekkefjord, offering a glimpse of Norwegian charm. We then make our way to Stavanger, a picturesque town blessed with a lively port by the fjord. Please note that ferry schedules may differ depending on the time of year, but typically you will have the opportunity to enjoy lunch aboard the ferry.
Day 4 - Stavanger - Bergen
Today, as we depart from Stavanger, our first stop is the remarkable Swords in Rock monument, a tribute to the Viking era that stands by the fjord. Continuing on our scenic adventure through Norway, we traverse a remarkable landscape intertwined with tunnels and bridges, spearheading routes under the fjord, including one of the world's deepest undersea tunnels. This part of our journey includes two brief but stunning boat rides that promise relaxation amidst the beauty of nature. Arriving in Bergen by lunchtime, we'll take you up Mount Flyen by cable car, where you'll enjoy unparalleled views of the town and the surrounding fjords. The rest of the day is at your leisure, providing you the perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere of Bergen, often hailed as the fjord capital.
Day 5 - Bergen - Eidfjord - Voringfossen - Geilo - Oslo
We depart Bergen early, venturing into the heart of Norway. Our journey takes us across the impressive suspension bridge over Hardanger Fjord, one of the country's most striking fjords. We make a stop in Eidfjord, a charming town poised at the edge of the fjord. Next, we visit Vringsfossen, renowned as Norways most spectacular waterfall, boasting an awe-inspiring 182-metre drop. Here, we explore various viewpoints and bridges offering stunning views of the falls. Continuing, we traverse breathtaking landscapes of cold, desolate high plateaus, scattered with small lakes typically frozen for much of the year, and snowfields, taking us to Geilo. This popular ski resort town serves as our lunch stop. Following a relaxing break, we resume our journey towards Oslo, reaching the city by evening. In Oslo, you are encouraged to explore the vibrant city centre, meander through the historic harbour, and enjoy views from the rooftop terrace of the modern Opera House.
Day 6 - Oslo - Oslo - Copenhagen Ferry
On our sixth day, well embark on a panoramic tour of Oslo, the vibrant capital of Norway, celebrated as Europes green capital, thanks to its stunning natural surroundings. Accompanied by a local guide, we'll pass notable landmarks such as the Royal Palace before stopping at Frogner Park to admire its remarkable collection of sculptures. Our route will also take us past the exterior of the Town Hall, the historic port, and the striking new Opera House. After this insightful tour, you'll have some free time to explore at your own pace. You might wish to visit one of the many popular museums in the city. Following lunch, well board a modern overnight ferry that provides all the comforts of a cruise ship as we set sail towards Denmark. Our afternoon and evening will be spent on board, with comfortable cabin accommodation and breakfast included. Please note, we are scheduled to depart at 3:00 p.m., with boarding commencing at 2:00 p.m., and we expect to arrive in Copenhagen at 10:00 a.m. However, ferry schedules can be subject to change.
Day 7 - Oslo - Copenhagen Ferry - Copenhagen
We will arrive in Copenhagen this morning, where your day starts with a guided panoramic tour of the Danish capital. Renowned for its high quality of life and dedication to sustainability, Copenhagen also boasts a rich cultural heritage. Our exploration includes a visit to The Little Mermaid statue, a leisurely stroll through the charming Nyhavn Harbour with its vibrant historic buildings, and a look at the exterior of Amalienborg Palace, the residence of the Danish royal family. We will also explore City Hall Square and the Tivoli Gardens area. The afternoon is yours to spend as you wish, allowing you to immerse yourself in the city's atmosphere, perhaps by visiting a museum or enjoying a caf by the canal.
Day 8 - Copenhagen
Following breakfast, our journey concludes, marking the end of our remarkable adventure. As we part ways, you'll carry with you the fond memories of the experiences and discoveries shared on this trip.
