Day 1 - Copenhagen
Welcome to the start of your exciting journey! As you arrive in Copenhagen, we will provide a transfer to your hotel, allowing you some free time to relax or begin exploring the city at your own pace. In the afternoon, you will find important information about the commencement of the tour on notice boards in the hotel reception area. Please be aware that throughout the tour, the composition of the group may change as travellers join or leave at various points; however, the group size will always remain within a comfortable limit. Day 2 - Copenhagen - Odense - Aarhus
On the second day of our journey, we'll begin with a captivating panoramic tour of Copenhagen, led by a knowledgeable local guide. As the largest city in Scandinavia, Copenhagen is renowned for its diverse attractions, including the delightful Tivoli Gardens, the grandeur of Christiansborg Palace, the picturesque waterfront terraces at Nyhavn, and the famous Little Mermaid statue. Following this, we will set off towards Jutland, embracing the adventure of crossing a spectacular 20 km bridge over the sea. Our first stop en route is in Odense, where we can delve into its rich history by visiting the Gothic cathedral and exploring the childhood home of the celebrated author, H.C. Andersen. In the afternoon, we'll reach Aarhus, where you will have free time to take in the city's vibrant atmosphere and explore at your leisure.
Day 3 - Aarhus - Kristiansand Ferry - Kristiansand - Stavanger
Today, we'll set off towards Hirtshals, where we'll board a ferry for a three-hour crossing of the North Sea to reach the welcoming shores of Kristiansand in Norway. Our journey continues along Norway's picturesque southern coastline, offering stunning views as we travel. Well pause in the quaint town of Flekkefjord, a charming, traditional Norwegian village. Our day concludes in Stavanger, renowned for its vibrant port nestled against a breathtaking fjord backdrop. Please be aware that ferry schedules can vary depending on the season, but you should generally have time to enjoy lunch aboard the ferry.
Day 4 - Stavanger - Bergen
As we leave Stavanger, our first stop is at the Swords in Rock monument, a homage to the Viking era that holds historical significance. We then embark on a picturesque journey along Norways breathtaking fjord coast, travelling through a series of tunnels and bridges, some parts by boat. One of these tunnels is notably the deepest undersea tunnel worldwide. The two ferry rides make this leg of our journey both serene and remarkably scenic. Arriving in Bergen around lunchtime, a cable car will whisk us up Mount Flyen, offering splendid vistas over the town and the surrounding fjords. You will then have leisure time to explore Bergen, known as the gateway to Norways fjords, at your own pace.
Day 5 - Bergen - Sognefjord - Oslo
Today, our journey promises more of Norway's awe-inspiring scenery, as we venture into landscapes filled with fjords, glaciers, lakes, and forests. We begin by heading towards Sognefjord, the largest fjord in the country. On the way, a brief stop at the captivating Tvindefossen Waterfall offers an opportunity to admire its natural beauty. Next, we embark on a picturesque cruise between Gudvangen and Aurland. This hour-and-a-half voyage through the fjord is a visual feast, and we suggest enjoying lunch on board to make the most of the experience. As we continue, we'll traverse remarkable snow-covered vistas and travel through the Aurland Tunnelthe longest of its kind worldwide. We will pause to appreciate the exterior of Borgund Stave Church, a remarkably well-preserved example of medieval Norwegian wooden architecture. Arriving in Oslo, you'll have the evening to explore the vibrant port area, wander the main streets, or relax amidst the art installations and greenery in Frogner Park.
Day 6 - Oslo - Orebro - Stockholm
Today, we begin with a guided panoramic tour of Oslo, Norway's vibrant capital. Known for its blend of innovative modern architecture and classical buildings, the city is set against a backdrop of stunning natural scenery and expansive parks. It holds the title of the European Green Capital, highlighting its commitment to sustainability. After the tour, you have some leisure time to delve deeper into the citys charms at your own pace.As we continue our journey, we bid farewell to Norway and cross the border into Sweden. Travelling through picturesque landscapes of lush forests and serene lakes, we arrive in rebro later in the afternoon. This historic town, nestled by a beautiful lake, is renowned for its well-preserved castle and quaint old town. Take some time to wander and absorb the atmosphere before we resume our journey.We conclude the day by arriving in Stockholm in the evening, where the rest of the night is yours to explore this captivating capital city at your leisure.
Day 7 - Stockholm
Today, we will embark on a panoramic exploration of Stockholm, a stunning capital city uniquely situated across 14 interconnected islands. Our tour will take us to Gamla Stan, the lively old quarter known as "the city between bridges." Here, you'll find monumental buildings such as the Nobel Prize Museum, situated alongside Stortorget's main square, which honours Nobel laureates, as well as the remarkable Cathedral and the Royal Palace. Whenever we can, we'll enjoy the breathtaking views from Fjllgatan viewpoint. After our guided tour, you'll have leisure time to delve deeper into Stockholm's offerings. We recommend visiting some of the city's fascinating museums and lovely parks. For those interested, an optional visit to the City Hall and the Vasa Museum is also available. Enjoy your day exploring this captivating city.
Day 8 - Stockholm - Stockholm - Turku Ferry
You'll have a day to explore Stockholm at your own pace, allowing you to delve into its vibrant culture and history. Whether you choose to wander through its bustling streets, visit iconic museums, or enjoy a leisurely fika at a cosy caf, the city offers ample opportunities for discovery. Later in the evening, we'll set sail on a modern ferry bound for Finland, where you can relax in your comfortable double cabin, complete with en-suite facilities, as you journey across the Baltic Sea overnight.
Day 9 - Stockholm - Turku Ferry - Naantali - Helsinki
As we make our way to Finland, we recommend rising early to witness the breathtaking sunrise from the ships deck. Sailing through the land Islands reveals a stunning landscape dotted with hundreds of forested isles. Upon disembarkation, you'll have the opportunity to explore Turku, a city marked by its Swedish heritage. Our journey continues to Naantali, a charming seaside town known for its picturesque wooden houses. We'll arrive in Helsinki around lunchtime, allowing you the afternoon to discover the city at your own pace. Explore the historic market, admire the Russian-influenced architecture, and visit the city's beautiful churches.
Day 10 - Helsinki - Helsinki - Tallinn Ferry - Tallinn
Our day begins with an excursion to the Suomenlinna Islands, a collection of six islands that house a magnificent fortress once pivotal in protecting Helsinki. This World Heritage Site offers fascinating insights into the citys history. Well take a leisurely stroll, crossing the islands via pedestrian bridges to fully appreciate the landscape. Later in the afternoon, well board a ferry to Estonia, a journey lasting approximately two and a half hours. As we depart Helsinki, youll be treated to impressive views of the surrounding archipelago. By evening, we will arrive in Tallinn, ready to explore its unique charm.
Day 11 - Tallinn
Tallinn, the capital of Estonia, is a delightful city renowned for its well-preserved medieval core. We will start the day with a panoramic tour, allowing you to discover its impressive city walls, charming churches, bustling squares, and quaint medieval streets dotted with intriguing attractions. The afternoon is yours to explore at leisure. Day 12 - Tallinn - Parnu - Turaida - Sigulda - Salaspils - Riga
Today, we journey through the picturesque landscapes of Estonia and Latvia. Our first destination is Prnu, a charming seaside resort known for its sandy beaches and relaxed atmosphere. After enjoying the coastal views, we proceed towards Latvia, where lunch is included before delving into the history of Turaida Castle. This medieval fortress is not only steeped in history but is also surrounded by a scenic park adorned with sculptures. Following our exploration, we head to Sigulda, a quaint town nestled in stunning natural surroundings, perfect for a leisurely stroll. As we continue to Riga, we make a poignant stop at the Salaspils Memorial, a powerful site that commemorates the victims of a former Nazi concentration camp. The memorial, established in 1967, stands as one of the largest monumental complexes in Europe. We arrive in Riga come evening, concluding an enriching day of discovery.
Day 13 - Riga
Today, we offer you a guided panoramic tour of Riga, Latvias vibrant capital and the largest city in the Baltic region. As you explore, you'll encounter an intriguing blend of historical influences, with vivid reminders of its Soviet past. The city is renowned for its cultural heart and is celebrated for its well-preserved medieval Old Town and stunning Art Nouveau architecture. Following the guided portion of your day, you'll have the afternoon to wander at your leisure. Embrace the opportunity to delve deeper into the city's rich history, sample local cuisine, or perhaps discover some hidden gems among its vibrant streets and squares.
Day 14 - Riga - Rundale - Vilnius
Today, we set off early for Lithuania, stopping en route to visit the Baroque Palace of Rundale, an architectural masterpiece designed by the same mind behind Saint Petersburgs Hermitage Museum. Crossing into Lithuania, youll find the countrys deep Catholic roots reflected beautifully at the Hill of Crosses, a spiritual site with thousands of crosses. Well include lunch on our journey, providing a taste of local flavours. Later, we visit Trakai, a stunning castle situated on an island in a serene lake near Vilnius. Our day concludes in the charming city of Vilnius. Please note that depending on the season, our visit to Trakai may occur later, following our exploration of the city.
Day 15 - Vilnius
Today we begin our exploration of Vilnius, a city gracefully set on seven hills and often likened to Rome for its stunning beauty. On our panoramic tour, we'll uncover the city's rich tapestry of Baroque churches and historic fortifications. Vilnius is dotted with winding commercial streets in the city centre, alongside an impressive ensemble of 1,200 medieval houses that narrate tales of yesteryear. The afternoon is your opportunity to delve deeper into this captivating city at your own pace. Whether it's marvelling at architectural wonders or soaking in the local culture, Vilnius offers a wealth of experiences for you to enjoy.
Day 16 - Vilnius - Grutas Park - Augustw - Warsaw
Today, we journey into Poland, starting with a visit to Grutas Park, famously known as "Stalin's World." Here, you'll find an intriguing collection of 86 statues from the Soviet era, offering a unique glimpse into this historical period. Following our time at the park, we'll stop for lunch in Augustw, a picturesque town located by a serene lake, perfect for a leisurely break. As afternoon turns to evening, we'll continue our travels to central Poland, arriving in the vibrant city of Warsaw to conclude our day.
Day 17 - Warsaw
Our day begins with a guided panoramic tour of Warsaw, a vibrant city where modernity meets meticulously restored history. As we explore, you'll discover the charm of the old town, with its quaint cobbled streets and the Royal Palace, all restored to their former glory after World War II. This area is now recognised as a World Heritage Site. We will also visit the striking Palace of Culture, a gift from the Soviet Union, and reflect on the poignant history of the former Jewish ghetto, once the largest in Europe. Our stroll continues through Lazienki Park, where you'll find the revered Chopin Monument.In the afternoon, the city is yours to explore. You might choose to visit the National Museum or the Warsaw Rising Museum for a deeper understanding of Poland's rich history, or you could opt to wander through the bustling city centre, offering numerous shops and activities. As our extraordinary journey concludes, youll leave with unforgettable memories of the places and cultures we've explored.
