Day 1 - Copenhagen
Welcome to Copenhagen, where your adventure begins. Upon arrival, we will arrange your transfer to the hotel, allowing you some time to relax and settle in. Spend the afternoon as you wish, making the most of these first moments in the vibrant Danish capital. For logistical ease, all essential information regarding the start of your journey can be found on the notice boards at the hotel reception. Enjoy your initial exploration of this fascinating city. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Copenhagen
In the morning, we will embark on a panoramic tour of Copenhagen, the Danish capital celebrated for its high quality of life, dedication to sustainability, and vibrant cultural scene. Our exploration includes the iconic Little Mermaid statue and the historic Nyhavn harbour, famous for its colourful buildings. We'll view the exterior of Amalienborg Palace, the residence of the Danish royal family, stroll through Town Hall Square, and experience the charming Tivoli Park area. Later, you'll have the freedom to explore more of the city at your own pace, allowing you to dive deeper into its captivating atmosphere.
Day 3 - Copenhagen - Jnkping - Vadstena - Stockholm
We set off from Copenhagen and make our way to Elsinore, famously associated with Shakespeare's Hamlet, where we'll visit the impressive Kronborg Castle. Next, we embark on a short, 20-minute ferry journey across the sound to Sweden. As we travel, the scenery shifts to beautiful landscapes, characterised by expansive lakes and dense forests. Our first Swedish stop is Jnkping, a quaint, modern city nestled by a large lake. Here, you'll have the opportunity to wander around and savour a leisurely lunch. Our adventure continues as we proceed to Vadstena, a charming lakeside town noted for its quaint historic houses and an imposing 14th-century castle, which once served as a monastery. We then move on towards Stockholm, reaching the Swedish capital by evening. Situated on the Baltic Sea archipelago and interlaced with numerous bridges and ferries, Stockholm is celebrated for its deep historical roots, stunning architecture, and a harmonious mix of contemporary and traditional influences, promising an engaging and memorable experience.
Day 4 - Stockholm
On our fourth day, we will embark on a panoramic tour of Stockholm, the magnificent capital gracefully spread across 14 interconnected islands. We shall explore Gamla Stan, the vibrant historic quarter affectionately referred to as "the city between bridges." Here, you can marvel at the Nobel Prize Museum, located adjacent to the main square, Stortorget, which celebrates Nobel Prize laureates. Our walk will also take in the Cathedral and the grand Royal Palace. When opportunities arise, we'll pause at Fjllgatan, offering breathtaking views over the cityscape. Afterward, you have the afternoon free to uncover more of Stockholm's gems. We suggest delving into its eclectic museums and beautiful parks. Those keen for further discovery might consider a visit to the City Hall or the fascinating Vasa Museum.
Day 5 - Stockholm
Following breakfast, our journey draws to a close, leaving you with cherished memories of your adventure.
