Day 1 - Copenhagen
Welcome to your tour! Upon your arrival in Copenhagen, we will ensure a smooth transfer to your hotel. You'll then have some free time to start exploring this vibrant city on your own. In the afternoon, make sure to check the hotel reception boards for important details about the beginning of your adventure with us. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Copenhagen
On the second day of our journey, we will immerse ourselves in the vibrancy of Copenhagen with a morning panoramic city tour guided by a knowledgeable local. Discover why this Danish capital is celebrated for its outstanding quality of life, dedication to sustainability, and rich cultural heritage. Our exploration includes viewing the iconic Little Mermaid statue, a nod to Copenhagen's maritime roots, and soaking in the charm of Nyhavn harbour, renowned for its vividly coloured historic buildings. We will also observe the exteriors of Amalienborg Palace, the regal residence of the Danish royal family, and visit Town Hall Square and the Tivoli Park area, rich in history and allure. Following our guided tour, you'll have the freedom to delve deeper into Copenhagen's unique appeal at your own pace.
Day 3 - Copenhagen - Jnkping - Vadstena - Stockholm
Today, we set off from Copenhagen for an exciting day of discovery. Our first stop is Elsinore, the legendary city associated with Shakespeare's Hamlet, where well visit the imposing Kronborg Castle. Next, we'll enjoy a short ferry rideapproximately 20 minutesto Sweden, giving you a moment to soak in the scenic beauty of the Nordic waters. As we journey through Sweden, we'll travel past striking landscapes, characterised by expansive lakes and lush forests, reaching Jnkping, a charming modern city nestled beside a large lake. Youll have some free time here to explore and enjoy a leisurely lunch.Following Jnkping, we continue to the picturesque town of Vadstena, known for its quaint old houses and a notable 14th-century castle which later became a monastery. Our journey for the day concludes as we arrive in Stockholm, the vibrant capital of Sweden, in the evening. Situated in the Baltic Sea archipelago, Stockholm is a city of rich history, stunning architecture, and a harmonious blend of modernity and tradition, promising a truly unique experience.
Day 4 - Stockholm - Mora
After breakfast, well embark on a guided tour of Stockholm, a stunning capital straddling 14 islands. Here, water is a constant companion. Our exploration takes us to Gamla Stan, or the City between the Bridges, the lively old town brimming with monumental buildings. Youll encounter the Nobel Museum adjacent to the main square, Stortorget, which celebrates Nobel Prize laureates, as well as the impressive Cathedral and the Royal Palace. Well also pause at Fjllgatan viewpoint for a magnificent cityscape. After some free time, well set off around 16:00 for northwestern Sweden. Enjoy the pleasant journey through landscapes of hills, farmland, quaint villages, and serene lakes. Our destination is Mora, a charming small city nestled between two lakes. Mora is historically significant as the rallying point for Gustav I of Sweden in his 1521 bid to overthrow Danish invaders. Well arrive by evening, providing you with an opportunity to absorb the local history and charm.
Day 5 - Mora - Funsdalen - Roros - Trondheim
We will set off early for Norway, travelling through expansive forests, serene lakes, and mountainous terrains. Our first destination is Funsdalen, a favourite spot for skiing enthusiasts. Next, we'll journey to Rros, where you'll have the opportunity to enjoy lunch and discover this historic mining town renowned as a World Heritage Site. Wander through its quaint historic centre, featuring old miners houses and a museum detailing the towns mining past. Our travels continue to Trondheim, situated in Norway's central coastal area. As Norway's third-largest city, Trondheim is steeped in history, dating back to the Viking era, and once served as the country's medieval capital. Notable attractions include its majestic 11th-century cathedral and the iconic old bridge over the canal. In the evening, you might explore Trondheim's vibrant nightlife and sample the diverse range of restaurants on offer.
Day 6 - Trondheim - Kristiansund - Atlantic Road - Molde
Today, we delve deeper into the heart of Norway, starting with a morning exploration of Trondheim. Known for its rich history and vibrant atmosphere, the city offers a perfect beginning to a day filled with breathtaking views. As we journey along the coastline, we admire the stunning fjords of the Norwegian Sea, eventually crossing one of these majestic waterways by ferry.Our travels bring us to Kristiansund, a charming city set across several islands, each connected by intricate bridges and embankments. This city has traditional roots in fishing and a picturesque city centre where you can wander along cobblestone streets, pop into local shops, and enjoy a leisurely lunch in one of its cafes.In the afternoon, we head towards the Kvernes Stave Churchadmission's on us. This 14th-century marvel is home to remarkable artefacts, including a 300-year-old ship model and altarpieces honouring the Virgin Mary. Our journey then takes a dramatic turn as we embark on the renowned Atlantic Road. Known as one of the world's most beautiful oceanic drives, this roadway spans across eight bridges connecting a series of scenic islands. We pause at a viewpoint to soak in the utterly magnificent seascapes before making our way to Molde. By evening, we arrive in this vibrant town, a popular stop for cruise ships nestled along its own stunning fjord.
Day 7 - Molde - Geiranger - Briksdalsbreen - Loen
We'll immerse ourselves in a day of awe-inspiring natural beauty as we traverse areas renowned for their breathtaking fjords, glaciers, and charming towns. Our day begins with a scenic 50-minute ferry crossing over the Romsdal Fjord, surrounded by stunning landscapes. We'll then climb into the snow-coated mountains before descending towards Storfjorden, where spectacular views await. Another ferry ride, lasting 30 minutes, will take us through the mountains to the Eagle Viewpoint. From here, enjoy panoramic vistas over the Geiranger Fjord, regarded as one of Norway's most splendid sights.Upon arriving in Geiranger, recognised for its World Heritage fjord, you'll have the opportunity to explore at your own pace. Perhaps consider a boat trip on the fjord, wander alongside cascading waterfalls, or simply unwind in the village. After a leisurely lunch, our journey continues through majestic mountain ranges and along scenic fjords. We next arrive at Briksdalsbreen, an impressive glacier set against a striking backdrop. There, you'll have time to walk from the base to the glacier, either on foot or by electric vehicle, depending on your preference.Dinner is included, and our day ends in the delightful town of Loen, nestled by the fjord. Here, you may choose to ride one of the world's steepest cable cars, which transports you from the fjord to an elevation of over 1,000 metres. The unforgettable views from the top are the perfect way to conclude our remarkable day.
Day 8 - Loen - Bergen
We set off early with under 300 kilometres of breathtaking scenery ahead as we make our way to Bergen. Our route takes us along the picturesque shores of fjords and across mountains, with a scenic ferry ride along the way. Arriving in Bergen around lunchtime, weve arranged a cable car ride up Flyen Mountain for exceptional views over the city. Afterwards, youll have free time to explore Norway's second-largest city, noted for its rich history and vibrant culture. Take a leisurely stroll through Bryggen, the historic dock district known for its brightly coloured wooden buildings, now a UNESCO World Heritage site. If you wish, you may explore the Aquarium or visit the lively fish market, which is brimming with small restaurants offering local delicacies.
Day 9 - Bergen - Eidfjord - Voringfossen - Geilo - Oslo
Departing from Bergen in the early hours, we delve deeper into Norway's captivating landscapes. Our adventure begins with a ride over the majestic suspension bridge spanning the Hardanger Fjordoften celebrated as one of Norway's most stunning fjords. A stop at Eidfjord, a quaint town nestled by the water's edge, offers a glimpse of serene Nordic beauty. Our next marvel is Vringsfossen, hailed as Norways most breathtaking waterfall. With a staggering drop of 182 metres, the cascades provide magnificent viewing points from bridges and platforms. Journeying onwards, we traverse stark, cold high plateaus interspersed with small lakes and snowfieldsthese enchanting vistas remain frozen for much of the year. Our route heads to Geilo, a renowned ski resort town, where we will pause for a leisurely lunch. After our midday break, we continue our scenic drive towards Oslo, arriving in the evening. In Oslo, we suggest experiencing the vibrancy of the city centre, meandering through the historic harbour or venturing onto the rooftop terrace of the impressive modern Opera House for panoramic views.
Day 10 - Oslo
In the morning, we will embark on a panoramic tour of Oslo, the capital of Norway, renowned for its beautiful setting amidst stunning landscapes and its title as Europes green capital. Accompanied by our local guide, we will pass by the Royal Palace, stop at Vigeland Park to admire its impressive sculpture collection, and view the exteriors of the Town Hall, the old port, and the striking Opera House. Following the tour, you might want to visit one of the citys esteemed museums, such as the Munch Museum. The afternoon is yours to delight in exploring Oslo at your own pace.
Day 11 - Oslo
Following breakfast, our tour concludes, leaving you with cherished memories of your journey through Scandinavia.
