Welcome to Denmark and your Scandinavian adventure. On arrival at the airport in Copenhagen, you can make your own way to the hotel. The rest of your first day is free to head out and explore. A welcome dinner at the hotel is included.
Day 2 - Exploring Copenhagen
Today, we get acquainted with Denmark’s capital on a guided three-hour Copenhagen city tour. We pass key landmarks such as the Royal Palace, City Hall and the New Opera. We then see the city from the water as we cruise through Copenhagen’s canals by boat.
In the afternoon we continue to North Zealand to visit the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Kronborg Castle in Helsingør, a historic fortress and the setting for Shakespeare’s Hamlet, where entrance is included. Later we visit Frederiksborg Castle Park - only the park - at the largest Renaissance-era castle in Scandinavia.
Day 3 - Copenhagen to Oslo Cruise
Copenhagen - Oslo (Norway). Spend the morning at leisure, relaxing or exploring Copenhagen at your own pace.
In the afternoon, you transfer to the ferry harbour for the departure of your overnight sailing to Oslo. The Copenhagen to Oslo journey offers a distinctive onboard experience, with a lively atmosphere, excellent food and beverages, and attentive service throughout. The ship provides options for all ages, including restaurants and cafes serving everything from simple sandwich lunches to gourmet dinners. Enjoy dinner with a drink as you sail towards Oslo.
Day 4 - Exploring Oslo
Spend the morning on board and enjoy breakfast before we arrive in Oslo at around 10:30.
From the harbour, we begin a three-hour guided city tour of Norway’s capital, a vibrant urban centre set against striking fjord scenery. We visit Frogner Park, home to Gustav Vigeland’s remarkable sculptures that capture a wide range of human emotions. We also see the Royal Palace with its elegant architecture, the City Hall with its colourful murals, and Akershus Fortress, a historic stronghold offering panoramic views and an insight into Oslo’s medieval past.
The remainder of the day is at leisure before we transfer to your hotel in Oslo later in the afternoon.
Day 5 - Holmenkollen & Nordic Folk Museum
Begin the day with a visit to Holmenkollen, Oslo’s iconic ski area, home to a ski jump that rises 60 metres above the city and offers panoramic views of the urban landscape and surrounding fjords. This landmark also houses a ski museum with interactive exhibits that trace the history of skiing and winter sports. At Holmenkollen, you have free time to explore. You can visit the jump tower, take in the views and immerse yourself in Norway’s long skiing tradition. It is an essential stop for anyone interested in winter sports and striking natural scenery.
Spend some time at leisure before we visit the Nordic Folk Museum, where entrance is included. The museum presents Scandinavian history and culture through traditional architecture, folk art and displays on everyday life. It features 150 authentic buildings, including one of Norway’s oldest structures: a wooden church from the twelfth century. Here, you can experience historical buildings, costumes and artefacts from different periods of Nordic history, offering an engaging cultural insight.
Day 6 - Oslo to Stockholm
Oslo - Stockholm (Sweden). In the morning after breakfast, we depart Norway on the Panorama Route and travel towards Sweden, the third Scandinavian country of our tour. Along the way, we admire the surrounding forests and the beautiful, untouched nature for which both countries are known. On arrival in Stockholm, we transfer to the hotel. Stockholm is surrounded by almost 25,000 small islands, giving the city its distinctive archipelago setting.
The remainder of the day is at leisure. You can wander through the streets, explore the city of the royal family and visit Drottninggatan (Queen Street), which is lined with shops, bars and cafes.
Day 7 - Exploring Stockholm
A city tour awaits you in Stockholm. We begin in Gamla Stan, the medieval heart of the city, known for its narrow cobblestone streets, colourful buildings and well-preserved architecture. We then visit the Royal Palace, the official residence of the Swedish monarch, where entrance is not included. Our tour continues to the Vasa Museum, where entrance is included, to see the remarkable seventeenth-century Vasa warship, preserved and recovered from the sea. The museum provides a detailed insight into the ship’s history and the era it represents.
After the tour, we recommend visiting some of Stockholm’s trendy shops and enjoying time in the city’s charming cafes or restaurants. You can savour local cuisine and take in the vibrant atmosphere.
Day 8 - Stockholm
Your tour comes to an end after breakfast in the hotel and check-out. No transfer is included, so make your own way to the airport or your next destination.
