Day 1 - Prague
Upon your arrival in Prague, we will arrange your transfer to the hotel. Be sure to check the hotel reception's information boards for details about the welcome meeting with your guide. This evening, well take you to the vibrant Old Town Square, a hub of activity and a perfect place to soak in Prague's lively atmosphere. There, you can savour dinner at a selection of restaurants offering a wide array of international cuisines, such as Czech, Chinese, Indian, and Italian. After enjoying your meal and the bustling surroundings, well provide a return transfer to your hotel. Please bear in mind that travellers may join or leave the tour at different points, which means the group dynamic might change, although we will never exceed the maximum group size. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Prague
Today, we immerse ourselves in the splendour of Prague, often hailed as the Baroque jewel of Europe. Day 3 - Prague - Munich - Innsbruck
On the third day of our journey, well set off bright and early, making our way into the scenic region of Bavaria, Germany. By midday, we'll arrive in Munich, where you can explore the historic city centre at your leisure and find a delightful spot for lunch. As afternoon unfolds, we'll resume our travels, crossing into Austria. Surrounded by the stunning Alpine landscape, we'll reach Innsbruck, the vibrant capital of Tyrol. You'll have time to wander through the captivating Old Town, perhaps dining in the charming area near the Golden Roof a historic landmark adorned with thousands of gilded copper tiles.
Day 4 - Innsbruck - Zurich
Begin your day with a visit to the renowned Swarovski Museum in Innsbruck, the home of exquisite crystal craftsmanship. We'll explore the impressive gardens and delve into the process behind these stunning creations. Following this, you will have some leisure time to further explore or relax before we set off for Zurich. Enjoy the breathtaking Tyrolean landscape as we journey onward. In Zurich, spend your evening in the historic city centre, nestled beside the beautiful lake. You'll have an array of dining options to choose from, including Indian, Oriental, Italian, International, and Swiss cuisine, catering to various tastes.
Day 5 - Zurich - Lucerne - Zurich
Today, prepare to be captivated by awe-inspiring landscapes of towering mountains and pristine lakes. Our adventure in the Interlaken region begins with enchanting views before we arrive in Grindelwald. Here, well take a moment to savour a coffee before boarding a cable car that whisks us up the mountain. Once at the top, a winding path leads to a suspended bridge. For those seeking a thrill, walking across the bridge will reward you with spectacular vistas of the surrounding glaciers. Well pause for lunch on the mountain, indulging in the fresh alpine air and stunning scenery.Our journey then continues to the picturesque city of Lucerne, known for its breathtaking beauty and charming cityscape. Youll have the opportunity to explore at your leisure, discovering its delightful blend of history and contemporary culture. Later, well return to Zurich, concluding a day filled with unforgettable sights and experiences.For those interested, the guide will offer an optional full-day excursion that begins in the morning and includes additional exploration. After spending some time in Lucerne, you may wish to join a ride on the rotating cable car to the summit of Mount Titlis. At over 3,000 metres above sea level, youll be greeted by panoramic views of the glacier and the majestic Alps.
Day 6 - Zurich - Bellinzona - Como - Milan
We will set off from Zurich early in the morning, traversing the stunning Alps as we make our way to the Italian-speaking region of Switzerland. Our first stop is Bellinzona, famous for its trio of medieval castles which have earned UNESCO World Heritage status. These fortresses, perched on the hills, underscore Bellinzona's historical importance as a significant alpine stronghold. You'll have time to explore the delightful streets of the town centre at your own pace. Continuing into Italy, we reach the charming town of Como, often hailed as Lombardy's gem. Here, the stunning gardens by the lake and the magnificent cathedral await your discovery during our lunch stop. We then journey onwards to Milan, where our guide will introduce you to the striking Piazza del Duomo. You'll have time to take in the vibrant atmosphere before we transport you to your hotel for the evening.
Day 7 - Milan - Pisa - Rome
Today, we journey onwards to Pisa. Our exploration here includes a ride on a charming tourist train to the Piazza dei Miracoli, where you'll encounter one of Italy's most mesmerising artistic complexes, featuring the iconic Leaning Tower of Pisa. After taking in the architectural splendours, we continue our travels to Rome, arriving later in the day.
Day 8 - Rome
Today we embark on an exploration of Rome, diving into its rich history and immense cultural heritage. During the morning, we will enjoy a guided three-hour tour that combines a walk through Imperial Rome with a panoramic coach ride, shedding light on one of the oldest cities in Western civilisation. Our journey will take us past iconic sites such as the Arch of Constantine, the majestic exterior of the Colosseum, and the Imperial Forums. We will continue to marvel at the Circus Maximus, the stunning Baths of Caracalla, the Basilica of Saint Mary Major, the unique Pyramid of Cestius, and Castel SantAngelo, concluding at the Vatican City around 11:00 a.m.After this insightful tour, our guide will present an optional excursion to visit the Vatican Museums and the awe-inspiring Sistine Chapel. As the day draws to a close, well offer a transfer to the vibrant Trastevere neighbourhood, celebrated for its cosy restaurants and lively atmosphere, ideal for a pleasant evening out. We will arrange for a return to the hotel around 8:30 p.m.
Day 9 - Rome - Florence
Today we head north from Rome, captivated by the scenic beauty en route to Florence. Our first stop is the picturesque Piazzale Michelangelo, where you'll be treated to sweeping views of the city. From here, we make our way to the historic centre, where you can savour an afternoon lunch. Following this, a local expert will guide you on a walking tour through Florence's iconic sites, including the Ponte Vecchio, the majestic Duomo, and Piazza della Signoria. The city itself is an open-air museum, inviting you to immerse yourself in its rich history and vibrant culture. Afterwards, youre free to wander and discover Florence at your own pace. As evening falls, a diverse array of dining options awaits you, with local restaurants offering a variety of international cuisines to delight your palate.
Day 10 - Florence - Venice
Today, we'll journey across the scenic Apennine Mountains, heading towards Venice. Upon arrival, we'll set off for an exciting boat ride across the Giudecca Canal, taking us to the heart of the Island of Venice. Here, a local guide will lead us through the enchanting St. Mark's Square, a hub of Venetian culture and history. Following this, we'll delve into the art of glassmaking with a visit to the renowned Murano Glass Factory, providing an intriguing glimpse into the traditional techniques behind these exquisite creations. You'll then have the opportunity to explore Venice at your leisure, soaking up its unique atmosphere. Our accommodation for the night will be in the Mestre district, conveniently located for further exploration.
Day 11 - Venice - Innsbruck - Salzburg
Leaving Venice, we set out on our journey to Austria. Upon arrival in Innsbruck, you'll have the opportunity to wander through the historic city centre and savour a delicious lunch in the Austrian Tyrolean capital. Our adventure continues along breathtakingly picturesque routes through the mountains, leading us to Kitzbhel. Here, you'll have time to explore this charming village, renowned as a ski resort where snow is a near-year-round spectacle. Later, we progress to Salzburg, where we will arrive by the end of the day. Please note that in cases of smaller groups, we might choose to travel by train from Venice to Innsbruck.
Day 12 - Salzburg - Lake Traunsee - Vienna
Today offers an opportunity to delve deeper into the heart of Austria, starting with a visit to the enchanting city of Salzburg, famously associated with Mozart. You'll have the chance to explore its beautiful Renaissance and Baroque architecture, set against the backdrop of an impressive castle. Next, well journey through the picturesque landscapes of lakes and mountains to the charming village of St. Wolfgang, a well-regarded pilgrimage site. Our adventure continues to the serene shores of Traunsee Lake at Traunkirchen. Here, you will enjoy a cruise, offering spectacular views of four stunning lakeside castles before we dock at Gmunden. As the day draws to a close, well make our way to Vienna, arriving in the evening.
Day 13 - Vienna
Today, we will take a panoramic tour of Vienna, guided by a local expert. Discover the city's grand avenues, exquisite palaces, and expansive parks, as well as its vibrant city centre. After the guided tour, you'll have the afternoon to enjoy Vienna at your own pace. In the evening, we will venture to the Grinzing district, formerly a wine-growing village and now part of the city. Known for its traditional taverns, Grinzing offers a perfect spot for you to wander and choose a delightful place to dine.
Day 14 - Vienna - Budapest
Upon a three-hour journey, we arrive in Budapest, the vibrant capital of Hungary. Our first destination is Vci utca, a bustling street where youll have some free time to enjoy lunch and explore the local shops. Afterwards, we embark on a delightful boat trip along the Danube River. This cruise offers fantastic views as it winds between historic Buda and the lively Pest, showcasing the best of both sides of the city. Following our river adventure, we begin a panoramic tour of Budapest, known as the 'Queen of the Danube,' highlighting its many splendid sights. Later, you will have some additional free time to further explore at your leisure. In the evening, you have the option to join us for a Magyar show, complete with dinner, for an authentic taste of Hungarian culture.
