Day 1 - Prague
Welcome to Prague! Upon your arrival, we will transfer you to your hotel where you'll have some time to relax or explore the city at your leisure. In the afternoon, be sure to check the hotel reception for information regarding the start of your tour. Enjoy the vibrant and dynamic atmosphere of this historic city as you settle in for the adventure ahead. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Prague
On the second day of your adventure in Prague, you'll have the day free to explore this captivating city at your own pace. Later in the evening, you'll join our guide for a transfer to the bustling Old Town Square. This vibrant location is perfect for soaking up the local atmosphere and enjoying a leisurely dinner. Youll find an eclectic mix of restaurants offering international cuisines ranging from traditional Czech to Chinese, Indian, and Italian. After a delightful evening, well provide a return transfer to your hotel, ensuring a relaxing end to your night.
Day 3 - Prague - Brno
We will immerse ourselves in the splendour of Prague today, a city renowned for its baroque architecture and captivating history. Our local guide will lead a panoramic tour, offering insights into Prague's rich past and showcasing its most iconic landmarks. A visit to Prague Castle is included, giving you a chance to explore one of the city's most significant sites. Following this, enjoy a leisurely cruise along the Vltava River, offering a unique perspective of the city's beautiful scenery. By mid-afternoon, we will bid farewell to Prague and embark on our journey to Moravia. Our destination is Brno, the Czech Republic's second-largest city, celebrated for its modern architecture and dynamic cultural landscape. Spend some time exploring Brno's bustling city centre, where you can admire the impressive cathedral and the historic town hall.
Day 4 - Brno - Bratislava - Trencin - Krakow
We begin our day with an early departure from Brno, heading towards Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia. Situated along the Danube, Bratislava offers a wonderfully preserved historic centre with charming streets for you to explore. After enjoying this picturesque city, we continue our journey to Trencin, a medieval town in western Slovakia. Here, you'll have the opportunity to wander around its vibrant historic centre and admire its noteworthy castle, as well as enjoy a leisurely lunch. Our afternoon drive takes us through Slovakia's scenic landscapes of forests and rolling hills as we proceed into Poland, arriving in Krakow by day's end.
Day 5 - Krakow
Today, we embark on a panoramic tour of Krakow, guided by a local expert who will share the captivating stories and historical significance of this ancient city. Krakow, dating back to the seventh century, stands as the capital of Lesser Poland and proudly showcases its UNESCO World Heritage-listed Old Town. During our exploration, we'll wander through charming medieval streets, visit the expansive Market Square one of the largest in Europe and the vibrant heart of the city and ascend Wawel Hill to view the magnificent Wawel Castle, once the residence of Poland's kings. In the afternoon, you're free to explore at your leisure. Perhaps join an optional excursion to the Wieliczka Salt Mines, another UNESCO World Heritage Site, renowned for its intricate carved galleries, underground churches, and over 300 kilometres of tunnels. At the end of the day, well come together to savour a traditional local meal, rounding off a day rich in history and culture.
Day 6 - Krakow - Kalwaria zebrzydowska - Barwald dolny - Wadowice - Auschwitz - Katowice
After breakfast, we'll make our way to Kalwaria Zebrzydowska, a quaint town renowned for its monastery and chapel complex known as the "Calvary," a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a significant site for pilgrimage. Our next stop is the wooden church in Barwald Dolny, where we'll pause briefly before continuing to Wadowice, the birthplace of Karol Wojty?a, later known as Pope John Paul II. Here, you can choose to explore his childhood home, now a museum, or visit the basilica where he was baptised, leaving some time for a leisurely stroll and lunch.In the afternoon, we'll solemnly step back into history with a visit to Auschwitz, the poignant former Nazi concentration camp wherein over a million souls perished during the Second World War. Now a memorial and museum, this site stands as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Our tour will extend to Birkenau, known for receiving trains from across Europe. Heading towards Katowice, we'll make a stop at the Nikiszowiec districtan early 20th-century neighbourhood built for miners, noted for its distinct architecture and vibrant community life, and currently being considered for UNESCO recognition. Once in Katowice, a modern city and Silesia's capital, you'll have free time to explore and soak up its vibrant atmosphere. Our accommodation for the night will be in Katowice.
Day 7 - Katowice - Opole - Wroclaw - Prague
Today, we will leave Katowice and head towards Opole. In this bustling yet charming town, you'll have the opportunity to enjoy a coffee break and admire its well-preserved old town, known for hosting the National Festival of Polish Song. Afterwards, we will visit the Village Museum, an outdoor exhibit offering a glimpse into rural Polish life in the late 19th century. Here, you'll discover traditional wooden architecture, including mills, a church, and farms, with tickets included in your visit. Our journey then takes us to Wroclaw, the historic capital of Lower Silesia. Founded in the 10th century, Wroclaw has a remarkable old town that showcases influences from Polish, Czech, Austrian, and German histories. Despite the devastation of World War II, its town square is considered one of the most beautiful in Poland. Enjoy time for lunch and explore the sights at your leisure.In the afternoon, we will make our way back to Prague, crossing over to the Czech Republic and arriving by evening.
Day 8 - Prague
After breakfast, our tour concludes, leaving you with cherished memories of your journey.
