Day 1 - Beijing
Welcome to China! Upon your arrival in Beijing, we will transfer you directly to your hotel to settle in. As evening approaches, our adventure begins with a trip to Wangfujing Street, a bustling pedestrian avenue in the heart of the city, renowned for its vibrant atmosphere. This lively street is lined with an array of shops and diverse dining options, providing a fantastic opportunity to delve into the local culture and acquaint yourself with Beijing's charms. Dinner is included in this introductory evening, after which we will return you to your hotel to rest and prepare for the days ahead. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Beijing
Today, we're set for an exhilarating exploration of Beijing, the vibrant heart of China. Our adventure begins with a full-day tour of the city's iconic sites. We'll start at the Forbidden City, officially known as the Great Chinese Imperial Palace. This impressive complex served as the imperial residence for 24 emperors across nearly five centuries. Following this, we'll visit Jingshan Park, home to the beautifully preserved Coal Hill. From its peak, you can take in the stunning panoramic views of the Forbidden City, weather permitting.Our journey continues to the vast expanse of Tiananmen Square, one of the largest public squares worldwide, where you can admire the architectural grandeur of the adjacent Great National Theatre, often referred to as the Beijing Opera House. We'll pause for a tasty lunch, included in our itinerary, before proceeding to the Summer Palace. This exquisite imperial retreat, favoured by the Qing Dynasty, is celebrated for its enchanting gardens and tranquil lakes.In the afternoon, we'll dive into traditional Beijing life with a tricycle ride through the historic Hutong neighbourhoods. This is a fantastic opportunity to experience the city's rich cultural heritage as we explore its traditional shops and visit a Siheyuan, a classic courtyard house showcasing Beijing's architectural charm. We will conclude our day by returning to the hotel for an overnight stay.Please note, due to heritage protection measures and safety regulations, the Forbidden City has temporarily reduced its daily visitor capacity, so entry cannot be guaranteed. Should access be unavailable, we'll instead explore the Confucius Temple and the Lama Temple, both of which are steeped in Chinese history and culture.
Day 3 - Beijing - Xian
Today, we venture to the renowned Great Wall at Mutianyu, a breathtaking example of ancient architecture with history stretching back over two millennia. Youll ascend and descend the wall via cable car, which is included in your visit, allowing you to appreciate this iconic site to the fullest. Enjoy a traditional lunch as part of the experience before we return to Beijing.In the afternoon, well embark on a journey aboard one of China's cutting-edge high-speed trains. At impressive speeds of up to 300 km/h, well traverse nearly 1,100 kilometres, journeying from Beijing to Xian in just over five hours. Upon arrival in the early evening, well transfer you to your hotel for check-in, ready for the next exciting chapter of your adventure.
Day 4 - Xian
Today, we depart from Xian to the airport for an included flight to Zhangjiajie. Upon landing, we'll arrange your transfer to the hotel in Wulingyuan. With the remainder of the day at your leisure, you are free to explore the picturesque surroundings and immerse yourself in the local atmosphere. We'll spend the night in Zhangjiajie, ready for the adventures tomorrow holds.
Day 5 - Xian - Zhangjiajie
We depart Xian and head to the airport, where we catch an included flight to Zhangjiajie. Upon arrival, we organise your transfer to the hotel in Wulingyuan. The rest of the day is free for you to explore the local area at your leisure. Enjoy an overnight stay in the picturesque Zhangjiajie.
Day 6 - Zhangjiajie
Today we explore the stunning natural wonders of Zhangjiajie. Our day begins with a visit to Baofeng Lake, commonly referred to as the Paradise of Water, where we will take a scenic boat ride surrounded by dramatic green peaks reflecting perfectly in the water. This will be followed by a journey to the northern part of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. Here, we experience the awe-inspiring Bailong Elevator, which will transport us up to the Yuanjiajie Scenic Area. This remarkable location, known for inspiring the floating mountains in the film Avatar, offers commanding views from its mountain platforms. Lunch is included to refuel us for the next part of our adventure. Later, we board a tourist bus to Tianzi Mountain. Here, youll be captivated by the panoramic beauty of peaks rising in succession. The summit reveals an expansive view of the entire area, renowned for its four natural wonders: the Sea of Clouds, the Moonlight Glow, Rays of Sunshine, and Winter Snow. After a day filled with breathtaking sights, we will return to our hotel and spend the night in Zhangjiajie, soaking in the memories of our adventures.
Day 7 - Zhangjiajie
Today, we explore the marvels of Tianmen Mountain, famed for its extraordinary geological formations and unmatched natural allure. Our day begins with a breathtaking ascent on Asias longest cable car, spanning over 7,200 metres. As we reach the summit, you'll have the chance to traverse the cliffside walkways and experience the adrenaline-inducing Glass Sky Walk, both offering astounding views of the surrounding landscapes. We will discover the intriguing natural karst cave that pierces through the mountain itself. Lunch is included in the day's adventure. In the afternoon, we journey to Furong, a picturesque Tujia ethnic village nestled beside a waterfall. After taking in the village's unique charm, we return to Zhangjiajie for a relaxing evening at our accommodation.
Day 8 - Zhangjiajie - Guilin
Following breakfast, we will make our way to the station to catch the high-speed train to Guilin. The train departs at 07:15 a.m. and arrives at 2:07 p.m. Upon reaching Guilin, we will arrange your transfer to the hotel, where you can choose between exploring the city at your leisure or taking some time to relax.
Day 9 - Guilin
In the captivating city of Guilin, you'll find a delightful blend of natural beauty and vibrant culture. We begin our day with a visit to the Reed Flute Cave, an underground wonder filled with an array of stalactites and stalagmites beautifully illuminated to reveal their intricate shapes. The ambience within this geological marvel offers a striking spectacle. The afternoon is yours to enjoy as you wish; we suggest exploring Jingjiang Palace, often referred to as the "miniature Forbidden City." This spot provides a fascinating insight into the history of the region. Come evening, you'll return to your hotel to relax and recount today's experiences. Note that the order of visits in Guilin and the day of the Li River Cruise may be altered without affecting your overall itinerary.
Day 10 - Guilin - Li River Cruise - Yangshuo - Huangyao - Guangzhou
We will depart from Guilin by boat, embarking on a scenic Li River cruise. This journey is renowned for its breathtaking landscapes, featuring lush mountains, charming villages along the riverbanks, and striking rock formations with uniquely shaped peaks. A delightful lunch will be provided as we cruise. Upon arrival in Yangshuo, a vibrant town popular with tourists, we will have time for a leisurely stroll, allowing you to soak in the lively atmosphere. Our adventure continues as we travel through central China to the rural town of Huangyao, celebrated for its well-preserved ancient streets, historic architecture, and temples. This picturesque setting transports visitors back in time. After a relaxing wander, we proceed to Guangzhou, arriving by the end of the day.
Day 11 - Guangzhou - Zhuhai - Macau
Today, we explore Guangzhou, a vibrant city in southern China. Our two-hour tour will take us along Shangiaxju Street, where you can experience the bustling traditional market. We'll visit the historic House of the Chen Clan, a remarkable example of late 19th-century architecture, and wander through the riverside area. Lunch is included, after which youll have some free time to explore at your leisure.In the afternoon, we travel to Zhuhai, situated on the China Sea. Here, we'll pause at the stunning Zhuhai Opera House, a modern marvel built on reclaimed land and opened in 2016. Its striking design symbolises the sun and the moon. Our journey continues with a border crossing into Macau, renowned for its vibrant casinos reminiscent of Las Vegas. Their dynamic energy creates an impressive spectacle.Please note, if you plan to return to mainland China after your visit to Macau and Hong Kong, a double-entry visa will be necessary.
Day 12 - Macau - Hong Kong
Today, you'll have a chance to delve into the captivating heritage of Macau. We begin with a guided tour, uncovering the city's storied past. Macau's historic centre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, bears the traces of Portuguese administration from the 16th century until 1999. As we wander through the city, we'll encounter ancient churches, ornate civil buildings adorned with traditional tiles, a historic fortress, and China's oldest lighthouse. You'll have some free time to explore further at your leisure, with lunch provided.In the afternoon, we embark on a breathtaking journey across the Hong KongZhuhaiMacau Bridge. Opened in 2018, this engineering marvel spans more than 30 kilometres across the China Sea, with 6 kilometres of tunnels beneath the waves and artificial islands punctuating the route. We'll pause at the tourist platform to take in the views of this incredible feat of modern engineering.Upon arrival in Hong Kong, we settle into our accommodation before heading out to board the iconic Star Ferry. This boat ride across Hong Kong Bay offers a splendid view of the city's illuminated skyline from the water. After returning to the vicinity of our hotel, a dinner awaits us to conclude this eventful day, followed by an overnight stay. Please note, if our group is smaller than 12, we may journey from Macau to Hong Kong by shuttle bus.
Day 13 - Hong Kong
Today, after breakfast, our exploration takes us to the heart of Hong Kong's bustling cityscape. We will start with a tour of the financial centre, where the impressive skyline is dominated by soaring skyscrapers, a testament to Hong Kong's dynamic economy. Our visit will include the History Museum, providing us with insights into the city's rich past, from its colonial beginnings to its role during World War II. We'll then stroll along the Avenue of Stars by the waterfront, celebrating figures from Hong Kong's celebrated film industry. Next, we will experience the iconic Star Ferry, which offers a unique perspective of the bustling harbour as we cross Hong Kong Bay. From there, we will ascend to Victoria Peak by bus, standing 552 metres above sea level, offering panoramic views over the city and its harbour. The return journey will be via the famous Peak Tram, allowing us to take in the stunning vistas one last time. The afternoon will be yours to explore Hong Kong at your own pace, with countless options to experience this vibrant city.
Day 14 - Hong Kong
Following breakfast, our adventure concludes in the bustling city of Hong Kong, leaving you with cherished memories of an unforgettable journey through China. Feel free to make the most of your remaining time in this vibrant metropolis, exploring its rich culture, diverse culinary scene, and numerous attractions before you depart.
