Day 1 - Vienna
Welcome to Vienna, a city celebrated for its rich history and stunning architecture. Upon your arrival, we will arrange your transfer to the hotel, where you'll have some free time at your disposal to settle in or begin exploring this enchanting city at your own pace. Later in the day, make sure to visit the hotel reception to find all the essential details and updates about the start of your tour, neatly displayed on the information boards. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Vienna
Today, we'll begin our exploration of Vienna with a guided panoramic tour, allowing us to delve into the city's grand avenues, splendid palaces, expansive parks, and bustling city centre. The morning promises a comprehensive glimpse into the architectural and cultural richness that defines this remarkable European capital. In the afternoon, you'll have the freedom to wander Vienna at your leisure, perhaps visiting one of its many museums or enjoying a traditional coffeehouse. As evening approaches, well arrange a transfer to Grinzing, a charming district known for its history as a wine-growing village. Here, you'll have time to explore the cosy, rustic taverns and perhaps savour some local Austrian cuisine.
Day 3 - Vienna - Budapest
We set off in the morning, travelling for approximately three hours before arriving in Budapest, the vibrant capital of Hungary. Our first stop is Vci utca, a bustling area perfect for a leisurely lunch break. After you've had time to explore the local cuisine, we shall embark on a delightful boat trip along the majestic Danube River. As you glide through the water, admire the contrasting landscapes of historic Buda on one side and the lively, cosmopolitan hub of Pest on the other. The panoramic views during this cruise are simply unforgettable. Post-cruise, we continue with a guided tour of Budapest, known as the "Queen of the Danube," which promises to reveal the city's rich cultural tapestry. You'll then have some free time to delve deeper into Budapest at your own pace. For the evening, consider joining us for an optional Magyar show featuring traditional Hungarian dinner and entertainment.
Day 4 - Budapest - Bratislava - Prague
We will depart from Budapest early in the morning, making our way to Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia. This charming city, nestled along the Danube River, boasts a captivating historic centre. You will have the opportunity to explore the city and enjoy lunch at your leisure. Following our visit, our journey continues into the Czech Republic, arriving in Prague by the evening. We will take you to the atmospheric Old Town Square, an ideal spot to begin your exploration of Prague. Here, youll find a lively setting perfect for soaking in the vibrant atmosphere. You can choose from a variety of dining options, from traditional Czech dishes to Chinese, Indian, and Italian cuisines. After dinner, well head back to the hotel, bringing our eventful day to a close.
Day 5 - Prague
Today, we delve into Prague, often hailed as the "Baroque jewel of Europe." Our exploration begins with a panoramic tour guided by a local expert who will introduce us to the citys most remarkable landmarks. As part of the tour, we visit the iconic Prague Castle, with admission included, where youll be transported through centuries of Czech history. Following this, well experience a serene boat ride along the Vltava River, taking in the citys stunning vistas from a unique perspective. The afternoon is yours to explore Prague further, allowing you to immerse yourself in its vibrant culture, perhaps visiting one of its many museums or enjoying the local cuisine at a charming caf.
Day 6 - Prague - Pilsen - Rothenburg - Frankfurt
We'll set off early from Prague, travelling towards West Bohemia's Pilsen, celebrated worldwide for its beer. You will have time to wander through the historical heart of town, where you'll find the Old Town Square, its impressive cathedral, the Plague Column, and a Renaissance town hall. Our journey then takes us into Germany, where we'll trace part of the enchanting Romantic Road. Our destination is Rothenburg, a captivating town often described as something out of a fairy tale, renowned for its breathtaking medieval architecture and atmosphere. We then proceed to Frankfurt, Germany's financial powerhouse. Upon our evening arrival, you'll have free time to explore the historic city centre, offering an array of dining options, from Indian and Asian to Italian and international cuisines.
Day 7 - Frankfurt - Cruise on the Rhine - Cologne - Amsterdam
Today, we embark on a scenic journey along the Rhine River, cruising between the picturesque villages of Rdesheim and St. Goar. This segment of the Rhine is renowned for its stunning landscapes and charming medieval castles. After our leisurely cruise, we continue our travels to the vibrant city of Cologne, famous for its impressive Gothic cathedral. Later, we make our way towards the Netherlands, arriving in the lively city of Amsterdam by evening. Enjoy your time exploring this beautiful city at your leisure.
Day 8 - Amsterdam
Today, we immerse ourselves in the quintessential charm of Holland, visiting some truly picturesque locations. Our first stop is Zaanse Schans, famed for its enchanting traditional houses, canals, and iconic windmills. Next, we travel to Volendam, a delightful fishing village perfect for capturing postcard-worthy scenes. From there, enjoy a short boat trip to Marken, once an isolated island now united with the mainland by a solid dike. Historically, its inhabitants built the houses on stilts to protect against floods.In the afternoon, we delve into the wonders of Amsterdam with a guided city tour. We'll explore various highlights, from the classic vista of windmills and the Rembrandt statue to the modern allure of the South District. At Museum Square, well admire the art of diamond cutting, an age-old craft. Later, we leave the coach behind to wander into the city's vibrant heart. Following the tour, enjoy free time to discover Amsterdams renowned canals, bustling markets, and charming cafes at your own pace.
Day 9 - Amsterdam - Bruges - Paris
We depart Amsterdam for Bruges, a splendid medieval city often referred to as the "Venice of the North" thanks to its picturesque canals. Wandering its cobblestone streets, you will encounter historic buildings and charming bridges that evoke a magical atmosphere. For those interested, ascending the Belfry Tower offers wonderful views. It's an ideal opportunity to savour some authentic Belgian chocolate or experience the local craft beer. Later, we continue our journey to Paris, where we aim to arrive by the end of the day.
Day 10 - Paris
We'll delve into the opulent past of France with a visit to the spectacular Palace of Versailles. Although admission is not included, you can explore its renowned gardens, a striking emblem of grandeur. Upon returning to Paris, we'll head to Montmartre, a delightful bohemian quarter renowned for its vibrant artistic scene home to painters, artists, and lively cabarets. Our discovery of Paris continues with a panoramic tour led by a local guide, designed to unveil the city's grand boulevards and celebrated landmarks. After this enriching day, we'll return to the hotel. If you're keen for more, there's an optional chance to experience a variety show in the evening.
Day 11 - Paris
We begin our day in the heart of Paris with a visit to the iconic Eiffel Tower, where you can ascend to the second floor and take in the breathtaking views of the cityscape your ticket is included. Following this, unwind on a leisurely boat cruise along the Seine, lasting approximately one hour and fifteen minutes, offering a unique perspective of Pariss architectural beauty. The afternoon is yours to explore the city at your own pace, immersing yourself in its vibrant culture and historic charm. Please note that the transfer back to the hotel is not included. In case of excessive queues at the Eiffel Tower, there's a possibility to rearrange your visit to a later time or on Sunday to maximise your convenience. As this journey draws to a close, we hope you depart with cherished memories. Be sure to check your flight times should you require another night's stay.
