Darwin - Humpty doo - Kakadu National Park - Jabiru - Kakadu. Today, you will be picked up from Travelodge Resort in Darwin at 8 AM, and then we will set off on a relaxed journey south to the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Kakadu National Park. After a scenic drive, we’ll stop at the Humpty Doo Roadhouse for coffee and breakfast before visiting Fogg Dam Conservation Reserve, where you can spot native birdlife and other wildlife unique to the Top End.
We’ll pause at the Corroboree Tavern, then continue to the Kakadu entrance sign for a group photo before heading to the Mamukala Wetlands for a gentle walk and picnic lunch. Day 2 - Cultural Kakadu and Return to Darwin
Kakadu - Kakadu National Park - Humpty doo - Darwin. This morning, we’ll enjoy breakfast at our accommodation before setting out on a Bush Tucker walk, either on the grounds at Cooinda or along a scenic trail within Kakadu National Park. Guided by local knowledge, we’ll learn how Aboriginal people have traditionally used native plants and wildlife for food, medicine and tools.
Our cultural journey continues at the Warradjan Cultural Centre, where engaging exhibits share the stories of Kakadu’s traditional owners and their enduring connection to the land. There’s also a gallery and gift shop to explore.
Next, we visit Nourlangie Rock (Burrunguy), home to remarkable Aboriginal rock art sites preserved for thousands of years. We then head to Angbangbang Billabong for a relaxed picnic lunch in the heart of Kakadu’s wetlands, followed by a short walk to Nawurlandja Lookout for sweeping views across the park.
